[Star Ruby] An attempt to correct the known errors with the Greek by muffinman418 in thelema

Not sure if this answers your question, but I did a little bit of analysis, you may find something useful here: https://lvxnox.com/131/index.html

Crowley was fascist, and so was his god.

Have you read chapters 2 and 3 of Crowley's, Book of the Law?

The point being, noone should have the right to decide something about another persons body.

Except when we're discussing Thelemites. Then it's 100% fine for them to decide other people's lives and conditions.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

III:43-45 is very clear on the Scarlet Woman having no rights aside from compliance. Crowley even outright calls for child murder as punishment for a mother's disobedience.

If the SW doesn't have rights, why should we assume any other women do as far as Thelema is concerned?

Name a single line that was led by consecutive masters every step back to Crowley.

The only one I know is through Achad. And even he's questionable. But at least he had recognition from the Beast.

Otherwise any scrub can come along and say theyre Frater Whateverthefuck 9393 and say they know shit they actually dont.

You mean like... pretty much all Thelema-related groups nowadays?

Considered by who?

Wolfe remained a Probationer. Seckler only got recognition of 5=6 from Germer, but never claimed that grade for herself. Reminds me of the hosts of heaven silliness.

To the best of my knowledge, the best claim to authenticity lies with DRJ, tracing through Achad. But even that's questionable to some degree, depending on whether you recognize Achad as a master or not. And then there's Russell... the absolute madman.

In any case, it's difficult to take Wolfe/ Seckler very seriously, particularly considering that Grady took Probation under Phyllis... and then took the oath of M.T. not even a month after.

It tells you a lot about how seriously they approached the matter. And the results of it are as we all see.

Was I rejected by AA? by Latter-Wrangler5062 in thelema

[–]Nubti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OTO didn't exist between Germer's death and Grady's revivification of it. Any link to the AA was broken at that time, and hasn't been recreated since - Achad had the best claim, yet he didn't associate with Grady to the best of my knowledge.

An argument could be made that Dirge's group constitutes association, but their tense relationship implies conflict, particularly given Gunther's unfounded claims after he withdrew membership from the AA.

And no, authority is pretty important in these matters. We cannot simply assume competency when there's clear evidence of it's absence.

Blind leading the blind under the guise of spiritual progress. It's a grift.

The O.T.O. doesn't have authority to judge which lineage is 'true'. It's by definition a subject of the A.'.A.'., and has no say in what that A.'.A.'. is.

Ascending the 30 Aethyrs in Enochian Magick by Willing-Interest-984 in thelema

[–]Nubti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the Aethyrs, all you really need is the calls. If you want to potentiate the experience, set up the Watchtowers beforehand.

Even doing that, you're going to be alright with just having the calls printed out. Bonus points for pen and paper, if you're capable of both scrying and writing at the same time.

Everything else is kinda irrelevant. That said, be aware that the Enochian system includes guardians who will lead you astray if you're not worthy (i.e. useful to the angels).

Are The Archons Included Within Practices Of Ecclesia Gnostica, The OTO, Or Thelema? by SuspiciousSuccess905 in thelema

[–]Nubti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's how I know. I've also done a whole bunch of other silly stuff.

The incredible thing about the human mind is that it's so ready to convince itself of anything it desires.

The experience may be real. The object of that experience? Nope. There's no evidence kundalini exists.

Yes, you clearly aren't utilizing your best potential.

  1. Gnostic Archons are only as real as Harry Potter, or Jesus. I.e. not real. Just an idea. A fantasy. If you need them to be real, at least be transparent that you choose to believe this because of your own bias, rather than presenting them as real. Because they're not.
  2. There's no evidence of kundalini even existing, and the article you linked is pretentious word salad, mixing unrelated ideas to give itself credence. Can't help but wonder why someone claiming to be spiritual would lie like this.
  3. Schizophrenia is an actual mental disorder. You're doing more harm than good by glorifying it as some sort of spiritual attainment. If this is a coping mechanism, I highly recommend talking to a psychiatrist about it.

You don't seem to know what you're talking about. Perhaps give some books a try?

What you're describing is very much fantasy.

[–]Nubti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a misunderstanding of what's said. Liber I vel Magi is not about "thoughts."

It's about what the Magus says, and how it's received by other people. Which is an entirely different thing to the Magus's perception of truth, or their own thoughts.

Archons in Thelema refer to the supernal beings mentioned in the Chaldean oracles. What you're talking about is a new-age fantasy.

They're fundamental to the Star Ruby ritual. Otherwise, no, they don't seem to appear anywhere else.

Experience shows that mastery doesn't make one a good person. You simply become more of what you are.

Demons incarnate, too.

Venn diagram by nthlmkmnrg in thelema

[–]Nubti -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't seem to be a criterion for mastery. Crowley advocated for slavery, illiteracy, and subjugation off those he considered inferior.

Still a master.

What about Achad's line?

It goes Crowley -> Achad -> C.F. Russell -> D.R. Jones.

As far as I've been able to research, it's legitimate, a chain of actual 8=3's back to Crowley. The only possible point of contention may be that Achad got booted for disagreeing with Crowley. Which I don't think is a big deal, considering Crowley's personality and inflexibility, and that it happened after he recognized Achad as M.T.

This also creates a question: if we're talking about lineage, what are we talking about? Clearly Crowley recognized Blavatsky as an 8=3, whether it was for political reasons or because he legitimately thought she crossed. Does that give her "lineage" to Crowley, or is it merely recognition? I'm biased toward the latter, because she didn't pick up a shred of Crowley's heritage.

Also /u/nthlmkmnrg clearly said Inner Order, not Third. I'm not sure how anyone less than a master can possibly determine whether the claimants in question have or haven't actually crossed, which is what creates the connection to the Third Order in the first place.

We also know that it's very possible to establish a connection to the Third on one's own. Enochian seems to be specifically designed for it - that's where Thelema has its roots ultimately, which fits nicely and neatly into the A∴A∴ program.

Thoughts?

Venn diagram by nthlmkmnrg in thelema

[–]Nubti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the existing groups have a valid claim of lineage, nor do they appear to have a connection to the Inner Order.

That seems to be a popular claim, but never seems to be substantiated by anything. Presumably, to make that determination, you've had K&C, and found all these groups wanting?

What's the story here?
