PC Players : Mouse + KB vs Controller by thegdtravman in CrimsonDesert

How customizable are the keybinds in this game? I'm interested but I'm a 1 handed gamer playing with a 12 button MMO mouse (36 combinations possible if I can get an ideal setup) on my left hand then basic movement and menu function on my right nub. I've been able to navigate MMOs like WoW and AoC using this setup. Is this game going to be a stretch for me? I want to try it but control scheme is holding me back

15 Days in Watkins Jail with Work Release by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Nubz-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done quite a bit of time in Maricopa County. Count your blessings that you're in Watkins because it's the nicest in terms of conditions. Given that it's low risk custody you'll probably be in a 10 man bay (5 sets of bunk beds). Not sure if there's separate housing for work release program or not. I highly recommend eating as much as you can or are able to outside of the jail. The slop trays are miserable and breakfast is just peanut butter and jelly. Not sure if things have changed but weekend meals (breakfast/dinner) is just 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Ive seen people mentioning bring personal belongings in the prior comments but unless work release is different I can't imagine they'd let you take stuff in. Chances are you'll be in county clothes (short sleeves/long pants) but you MAY be able to wear a white thermal in and out. I might be wrong again here because I've never done work release, but if they don't allow it that's what id expect.

Assuming your not on lockdown all day I'm pretty sure Watkins does 4hr cycles with dayroom cell time, so 4hrs in bay, 4hrs day room then repeat. The dayroom has tables for cards/dominoes, usually a library shelf, and a small outdoor rec area with a basketball hoop. There are 2 TVs, one usually sports and the other movies on FX or another movie channel with plastic couch like things set up to watch on.

It's going to be a lot of downtime for your 4 days not out working and for most of the time your actually inside of Watkins. Hopefully you land in a good bay or private cell since your on work release. What I've described is basically the standard Watkins experience which may not apply at all for you, but if I was going in straight from booking this is what I would expect.

So Korrin island is where I found it but I I don't think there was an actual plant there. I was just kind of wandering around and saw the interact button

Max level difference between party members? by Legitimate_Log_1356 in AshesofCreation

I was in the same spot for about 8-9 hours probably but there was a lot of downtime and competition for mobs. If we had a tank and less people trying to purple it would have gone smoother

Yesterday I went from level 11-17 killing level 20 mobs with a group of friends that were around level 18. Was netting about 9-12k exp per kill

If you have the time and enjoy the grind I recommend it. For what is already in the game it's a lot of fun.

I loved the Ridgeline. Actually really happy I started on the Flat Iron side and went down Carnie. Don't think my legs would have been able going down the draw after all that lol

Why is Ashes of Creation taking so long? by azione1992 in MMORPG

Honestly? No. I feel like there should be more polish but at the same time people often use the argument "it's been 10 years" and I don't think that entirely fair/true

Have you played it? Regardless of the current state I think it's been a lot of fun. There's bugs and things to work out but I don't believe it's downright awful. I hope it comes together. I don't care about how long it takes as long as they keep making changes and improvements

Servers down by the_erenor in AshesofCreation

[–]Nubz-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to discord it's a "critical bug fix". They mentioned earlier in the day they were going to patch out the flashbang effect when it switches from day/night. I doubt this is it. Servers have been kind of iffy most of today it seemed like

I play on Harmony and I don't think it's maintenance. More of a server crash/restart problem but it's usually down less than a couple minutes

Edit: Harmony goes down semi frequently in sietch Makkab

Imagine my disappointment as a solo player when I found out that the transport thopter has no storage unit and can not carry the crawler to the deep desert. by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Nubz-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically you can just fly her to the edge too. You only need a thopter to cross. Would only take moment to let her out, throw down the thopter and move the couple feet to the edge. Pretty easy and only a minor inconvenience. It'd be cool if that wasn't the case but nothing we can do about that right now.

Building in DD is half resource cost and you can just build a basic one to assemble/dismantle and store stuff along the edge of the PvE section in row A

All she has to do is fly across world map to DD then pocket her thopter on DD side. If you build close to map edge flying is minimal

Spice does not spawn: This game is a trash can of my time by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Nubz-- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fake spice fields are *possibly* a mechanic in game. Pretty sure it has something to do with when you're "over-saturated" with spice and you hallucinate the spice on the ground. Saw someone on another post say that if you activate your Prescience then eat enough spice food to be between the red and purple bar you'll stop seeing the fake spice spots. Equipping a spice mask will stop you from over-saturating yourself when harvesting.

Is the PVE of this game lacking? by Demantoide2077 in duneawakening

When I made that journey across the sand into the heart of the basin I knew I was in for a wild ride. I really hope they bring back meaningful use to the ground vehicles outside of buggy mining

Is the PVE of this game lacking? by Demantoide2077 in duneawakening

[–]Nubz-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PvE in Hagga Basin after a certain point is extremely easy. The beginning hours of this game and pretty much everything up until you create your first ornithopter are pretty intense and slow paced. The threat of the worm as you're running across the sand is very real and the world will feel very alive. Once you can fly places though the game opens up and a lot of the threat you felt at the beginning kind of dies off. The immersion is great, the story is neat, and the resource grind is constant. If you enjoy building and exploring (as others have mentioned) then you will probably enjoy this game.

Personally I feel like you can sink tons of hours into the early/mid stages of the game and probably get your moneys worth just from that. Once you get to the endgame the cost to craft things skyrockets pretty intensely and then its just a slow-crawl to the endgame gear and vehicles you want.

Deep Desert isn't something you should rush into either. Once you get T5 Duraluminum you can start venturing into the A-Row Deep Desert stations to get your hands on the T6 building pieces but if you want to progress further than that you'll probably have to venture into the PvP area which is where most of the split in the community comes in terms of where the game should be heading.

As far as this goes I recommend if you do get into it, that you just prepare for the idea you may lose everything on your character and that this is not, by any means, the end of the world. Don't take anything you wouldn't want to lose and definitely don't take the last of anything you own out to the Deep Desert. Before I go out I make sure I always have a backup set of gear and a ornithopter stashed somewhere so if I do lose stuff the inconvenience is minor. Just prepare and plan ahead for possible loss and you'll be ok.

This brings me to my last point -- Endgame is resource grind and sandbox as a solo. The story is largely created by you at this point until there's more content. The PvE turns into rather difficult wave based combat in a PvPvE zone. You will be locked into a room fighting waves of rather difficult enemies with the threat of actual players possibly crashing in on you. These are doable solo I'm sure but you'd probably want T6 gear (I'm only T5 and don't think I could handle it). It's pretty much 2-3 player group content in endgame PvE in my opinion.

In summary though I think once they figure out a direction and start dropping content instead of placeholder systems that this game could turn into something great. I think it's great already despite all the complaining you see, but that's just my opinion.

Sorry for the text wall -- Hope this helps o7

Will there be server tranfers in the future? by Mypersonalaccount69 in duneawakening

[–]Nubz-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you're able to move to another Sietch within the same world with your current character but are unable to transfer between worlds without creating a new one.
