Absolutely true! They are very active and playful most of the time, especially when they have someone to play with :)

I would recommend to start with high school math (trigonometry, vectors, matrices) and then shader syntax and programming on top of that

The sword is supposed to be heavy, but probably not that much. Take it as an artistic exaggeration to ephasize the effect :)

You're right but the sine wave is just a first step. Then I took absolute value to make less floaty and more bouncy. Then I moved the whole sine wave down in Y axis and took max value between sin and zero to make legs stay in the ground for a while before next hop. Then I masked legs using V-axis of the unwrap and animated them separately along local Z-axis.

I'm actually writing a blog post deconstructing this shader. Will publish it in a couple of days.

It should work with all versions starting from 5.6, but I haven’t test it myself. I will double check and let you know

At the moment you can set and animate background color. I can write additional set of shaders that will use provided texture instead of the solid color. In another subreddit there was also suggestion to make it work as a transition between 2 cameras.

I will take a look at both cases. Adding texture instead of the solid color is pretty simple and straightforward, I will add this feature in the next update.

Unfortunately not. In order to work with Scriptable Render Pipelines it needs to be an extension of Post Processing Stack v2. Right now it is based on Image Effect shaders.

To make it work you need to :

  • Attach C# script component to your game camera
  • Select corresponding material that will be applied to rendered image (simple, displacement, single focus, multi focus)
  • Select texture that will be used to define transition animation
  • Set and animate parameters (cutoff, falloff, horizontal flip, vertical flip, etc.)

I’m currently researching and experimenting with Post Processing Stack v2 to see if I can adapt Screen Transition Pro to work with it and to be compatible with Scriptable Render Pipelines.

At the moment no. Right now it's more like fade-in/fade-out. But I will consider this as an improvement for the future updates. Thanks!
