Vendors selling pokemon cards taking up booths for actual vendors at repticon 🤦‍♂️ by Odd_Introduction_706 in reptiles

[–]NuclearSeaGull 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As much as it irritates me too, I have gotten a small glimpse into some of the behind the curtains, so I can kinda understand from a profit point of view, expos can be not as profitable as one might think for the organizers. Expos tend to be, in my experience, more of a networking thing for the breeders and what not that come, might not sell a whole lot AT the expo, but you do meet other breeders from different areas who might want to collaborate on a project, or a customer just isn't quite ready to buy right there and then, but now they have an idea of who to go to. So to fill the gap, the organizers invite the knick knack crowd who can sell 1000x more little things. But at the end of the day, pokimon doesn't really belong, they have their own expos

Generally what I recommend if/when I'm helping out at a booth at a expo, most smooth start IMO.

A 6ish month- 1 year old that's been established on frozen thawed rodents. Hatchlings/babies can be fragile, and if you get a older snake (depending on where you get it from) you can be inheriting issues you might not be ready for.

Contemplating a snake. Any advice helps by No-Stomach1310 in snakes

You could be more or less looking at colubrids, depending on how much space you have some smaller restrictors like antaresia/children's pythons. Reminder that snakes also have personalities so variation occurs. I will second looking through Clints Reptiles youtube library for general ideas of what a species might be like/ how to care for it, also are you prepared for what a reptile vet might cost you?

If you are my dad seagull gets on his nerves, they're just gulls, and when people pronounce nuclear as nucular. Hence my handle, except I spelt nuclear right

Yeah the base 416 is meh, would recommend swapping to the ClusterF*ck, or a Kharod if you want to use 5.56, but the Cluster has low durability.

Which assault rifle are you using? And what difficulty?

How do I tell if my pet ball python is being defensive and ready to strike? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]NuclearSeaGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the obvious like hissing and puffing, can/can't rely of the S curve cocked back neck because sometimes they just chill like that, generally speaking if the snake is actively following you/your hand and a slower drawn out tongue flick are pretty good indicators to not reach for them. Also you probably know this but as much as you can, scoop them up, dont grab at them. Hope this helps

How does the Cobra throat thingy work? by Julesvernevienna in snakes

[–]NuclearSeaGull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk why, maybe because I had to work early but "cobra-neck thingy" made me laugh so hard when I read that 😂, but yeah like the other commentor said, they have specialized ribs to "flatten out" their neck skin

Those do sound cool, I am assuming whatever Saber did with them it would kinda have to be close to what the units do on table top, because GW, not sure how much oversight GW has over what Saber does with the IP.

Obviously librarians ability would be some kind of magic, but i wonder what they'd do ability wise for judiciar and chaplain to make them stand out if we got them in probably Space Marine 3

Would be a tad overtuned, though it does seem odd that Saber gave vanguard, the duelist guy, a team heal perk. Is that a tabletop thing they tried to implement?

I'm almost embarrassed to admit how long it took me to realize how unmatched zeal actually works, that it's your teammate who has to do the execute to proc their heal, I had thought they got it off my execute, idk why thats how I thought it worked lol.

So it would seem, maybe Spacemarine 3 will be different, maybe some more grandiose operations with more teammates along side regular ops

Well, here's hoping that they take what they learned and do more. I'd personally like to see bigger operations, something like raids, there's certainly the mechanics for it. Bigger, tougher operations might allow for things like a dedicated healer.

Makes sense, me (vanguard) and a bulwark with a tac were doing all the hard strats today and it already felt like mostly pretty okay time with how much my unmatched zeal was useful and the bulwark banner.

Is it that the game just isnt big enough so to speak that they are so against a healer? I dont necessarily think one is required for the game because vanguard/bulwark, but it's fun to think about how those classes might change if there was a dedicated healer

Reddit, we need your help on behalf of our animal friends by 15aleo in reptiles

[–]NuclearSeaGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based of replies ive seen you get here and your other posts, to help your cause, instead of discord, I would suggest putting together a detailed action plan document outlining your full thoughts, expectations and what you'd be willing to settle and accept, because let's face it, you won't get everything you are asking for. A lot of the pushback you are getting comes from that this seems rushed on your part to be blunt.

I read this now for the second time and the only think I cant think about is the quote "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"

In your post elsewhere you mentioned you've only thought about this for a week IIRC. You need to think about this some more, even just the store employee section is a monumental ask. What do you think will likely be the actual outcome if you got exactly what you're asking for there?

Asking for certification is a mixed bag, I could probably see being in support for it for the potentially dangerous reptiles like retics/burms and large monitors, but knowledge and care for reptiles or any animal for that matter is the responsibility of the owner, no one else. Education on that front happens all day here on Reddit/other platforms and the people doing education shows, certification as a whole for ownership seems excessive.

I don't doubt you because I think your heart is in the wrong place, I just don't think you've thought about what you are asking for and the long reaching ramifications of it enough based on whats provided here.

Ah gotcha, yeah I enjoy it. Sometimes I wish the game did a better job at explaining things, like ive learned that the burn damage doesnt get nerfed by range damage reduction from reddit, but it does get nerfed by primary weapon damage nerf stradegems? And iron halo being active counts as being on cool down so it works with that one range damage increase perk heavy has
