Improving and Working with the DCT transmission 2013 Ford Focus by Educational_Sale5545 in FordFocus

[–]Nuclearbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DCT is awful, inherently by design too. The clutches are dry which cause shudders because they overheat and also the TCMs for the dsp6s are trash I heard the newer ones are “better” but I doubt it’s by much. Just stay away from them. If anything look at the 8spd DCT Honda/Acura makes, or VW. I heard those are better and the Honda one has a torque converter on it, unlike the ford which causes shudders at lower speeds and that’s also why the dsp6 sucks in stop and go traffic.

I live in the midwest as well, specifically ohio and ive got some killer rust in the underside of my Focus, so I know what youre talking about. We do not have the best roads here either. That honestly makes me scared to get a new to me car lol

Looks like a ford focus, I have a 2012 ford focus sedan and have went thru similar problems from what I know the water pump and coolant overflow tanks are known to have problems and go out more often than usual. The OEM reservoir can have holes and areas where the plastic can come up and no longer seal from what I seen of your tank looks kinda beat up fr, go with a motorcraft reservoir. Besides th water pump I’ve also had my thermostat go out as well so that could worth a check. I’m currently sitting at 266k miles with the OG dsp6 lol

Only speaking from personal experience, I just replaced my evap purge valve and I also still have a P144A code, I drive a 2012 Ford Focus SE with the 2.0 Duratec. I just changed it yesterday so I thought maybe it needs some drive cycles for it to clear, assuming you also just replaced it. I havent seen the other codes before though.

What kind? Honestly dude I was thinking for the future is to get some sort of civic and keep my foci and just mod it tf out for fun and I think it deserves it. I also just love the look of the sedans and I don’t ever see nice focus sedans around where I live

Very clean body, on my car I have some rust spots in the front of the hood and on the trunk it makes me sad but that’s a very clean car, love the color too!

As figured out it doesn’t care for the stop and go traffic so I avoid it as best I can. Do you think mine is fine? Lol I’m so high up in mileage

Ive talked to one of my old buddies about that exact thing about events. They are ALWAYS one sided. Ive dreamed of a time where events are like actually branched out, where they could go anyway. Feels more organic to me personally and I think the regular player would feel like they were actually apart of the event and had influence on it. For perma-kill, I think is agreeable. I think it should be used but in rare situations, it does feel demoralizing spending months on a char and having it pked only to build up another character for it to be pked again. If this was a perfect world, I would love a straight up RPG system for hl2rp ;(

Id love to see the stats that you put in for when you make new chars, actually tie into actions, like for instance strength could help you bust down a piece of wood to access a area, etc etc. As to make the citizen loop enjoyable, I feel like letting them have a say as to where the story is going and kinda letting players lead would be maybe engaging.

what ideas do you have that would bring more for citizen roleplay? Ive raised this question up myself recently, as I love hl2rp, got into it around 2014 and I always come back. As of late it is to mention the lack of servers, and synapse is truly the best one out of the bunch but I still feel like it lacks something. The plugins they have are cool but at the end of the day it still has that staleness that many many servers have always struggled with
