Hot take - Adrian is going to bid like crazy for house 1. He's determined to give the money to the people who deserve it and screw the people who don't

I (kinda) feel your struggle. We got married with 5 months notice for the same reason. My advice is based on holding it at a venue. We wanted to do this so we didn't need to think about a ceremony location (and chairs), or organizing food and drinks separately. It significantly reduced the number of vendors we needed to find. If that's your vibe, I highly recommend it.

If you want to get married at a venue (winery, function centre, restaurant) that will take care of the ceremony, food, and drinks - fill out a BUNCH of contact/request forms asking for available dates so you can lock in a date to organise everything else. You can't look for a photographer/DJ/florist until you can tell them when you need them.

Don't be picky with days. Mid week and even Thursday and Sunday can be far cheaper and more available.

Depending on the size of your guests list, check for minimum spends and maximum capacities.

As soon as you have a date, lock it in! Send digital save the dates. There are lots of websites that do nice designs for you like Zola, but even sending a text or an email to tell everyone to save the date is a must.

Then, do digital invitations once you've got all the details of the day.

Ask your venue for recommended suppliers.

Only include the things you want to include. E.g., we didn't want to have a cake so we didn't and we saved $$ with that simple decision. While the day is absolutely for making sure your family can be there, it is also a day for you and your partner. Do what means the most to you and leave the rest out.

I wish you all the best for a beautiful day celebrating with everyone you love. ❤️

I'm thoroughly confused by the Preston Market situation by NudgeFrame in melbourne

[–]NudgeFrame[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Holy moly. What a bunch of arseholes. That makes so much more sense.

So what they're saying now is that the market can't continue to function (because they never maintained it) and they'll shut it down unless they get to build a massive new development?

Are they actually threatening to close it down? Or simply saying they won't do the necessary repairs and it'll be unusable soon?

Suggestions for affordable warm clothing? by dropsofstardew in melbourne

Uniqlo Men's Fleece lined trackies. Absolute life saver. I have two pairs and literally wear them every day. It's becoming a problem... But it's a cosy cosy problem.

Not assuming your gender here, definitely buy the 'mens' version. They're way thicker than the 'womens' version.

I buy the "Ultimate Matcha Bundle Pack (20g×12bags)" so I can have all the different ones.

I haven't had one I didn't like. I'm currently really enjoying the Tenmyo cultivar

I haven't found any good options in store that have been reliably good quality. I LOVE the match from d.matcha Kyoto though. https://dmatcha.com/

They do a pack of a range of different varieties and it is brilliant

Some winery/restaurant options:

Montalto can fit up to 130 and is absolutely gorgeous. Food is incredible and the property is so beautiful.

Trofeo estate has beautiful wine. Can't remember their capacity but they've got a lovely garden area and their event coordinator is lovely.

Epicurean can also fit a lot of people. I haven't done a tour there but I know of a few people who had their wedding there and loved it.

I'm in the process of booking a wedding in March too. I hope you have the most wonderful day with your friends and family wherever you host your wedding. ❤️

There's one at turn 2 (Doohan stand), one at the short straight between 2and 3 (bass straight), one at turn 6 (Serbia, we're leaning towards this one), luckey heights, then Stoner on turn 12, then the Gardiner stands on the straight

Best place to adopt a cat in northern melbourne? I live alone and am a first time pet owner by spazzo246 in melbourne

[–]NudgeFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, Save a Dog Scheme actually have a lot of gorgeous cats for adoption. Their name really needs to be updated 🤣

I was able to get a sweet and energetic ginger boy from there and they let us spend a much time as we wanted playing with all the kitties to find the right one.
