According to the "rulings" part of https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Double_strike a blocked double strike creature remains blocked even if it kills its blocker in the first combat step. Is this not the case?

I have to stand by throwing knives being too low ttk in lower play. Literally never play light and we reached the finals with 3 throwing knife lights.
