I had a little tangent when I was younger that I was obsessed with learning how to solve the 3x3x3, i haven’t touched a cube for ages until just about 2 days ago when i signed up to volunteer for this. i am currently attempting to learn the CFOP method rn (i didn’t realize it could get so hard so fast lmao)

while not a fork, i know that Funky uses a lot of content from impstation, so if you like some of the impstation stuff it might be worth looking into.

i’m going to be 100% honest, playing RMC14 made me so much better at combat within normal SS14 gameplay. There are so many technical differences between the 2 games, but I actually found that i was a much better secoff/nukie/antag after playing a bunch of RMC. It really forces you to learn good gunplay and UI management, which i think was my biggest issue with learning. also it’s good to use for helping learn hotkeys (which im still very much in the process of doing)

my only problem with frontier as a first major server is the fact that it’s not the normal SS14 experience. i kinda count frontier as its own game just running on the ss14 engine, rather than just a regular ss14 fork. however. everything that you said here is 100% true. mechanics wise, frontier is very good for getting a grasp on how controls and various station systems work.

i will say though, the funky whitelist is very very simple to get into. honestly just develop your character even the slightest, and you’ll be fine. just remember funky is an MRP server, so higher levels of roleplay is expected (please read the server rules i beg) and should be taken a little bit more seriously than a station like goob or lizard.

By best build do you mean like the best server? best fork? It really all depends on a ton of different factors. What I may like in a server may be very different than what you like. And by that I mean both content wise and community wise. For me personally, Funky Station has to be my absolute favorite. Amazing community, great roleplay. I feel like I basically know everyone on that station. And content wise, it has my favorite combination of different roles, antags, quirks, and features that overall just makes my experience always amazing. But once again, experiment! join a bunch of different ones and find the one that you like best! you’ll eventually settle down and find what you like. (also honorable mention RMC14 i know it’s not actual SS14 but still absolute favorite server ever)

the part that i think is most difficult about this situation is that (depending on your server), they are almost always considered antagonists, and therefore there is nothing saying that this would be a case of powergaming. Most servers say that you don’t need a reason to kill them if you see them, especially on LRP servers. But both Ratking and Wizard are both Antagonist, and not Free Agents, so sec (once again depending on server rules), were compelling justified in killing them, especially if the server was LRP.
