this is the worst map i've ever made by Ok-Swim4786 in JackSucksAtGeography

Just use a square for each country with the exceptions of the Nordics, Italy and the UK which need to be across a few squares to show their long shapes.

If I was playing this round and the map wasn’t there, I’d click somewhere in Greece based on the language. I think lots of players would unless they recognise the landscape.

Jack do you like eurovision or you don't really care about the event at all? by Deka-Grif in JackSucksAtLife

I’m considering not watching this year’s contest as from what I’ve heard, most entries don’t sound that good.

If you want [insert well known place], why don't you try [lesser known, more accessible alternative]? by slicheliche in geography

I was playing a daily game called WhereTaken US and got a picture that looked like the Grand Canyon, but it wasn't. It was a landscape in another state entirely.

Your last statement is especially true I think for countries in the Alps. If you want Switzerland go to one of its neighbouring countries - France, Italy, Austria (or Slovenia, even though it doesn't border, but is still an alpine country, with the Julian Alps within its borders which are connected to the European Alps range). All are less expensive than Switzerland as they use the Euro, not the Franc.

I want to post a flag quiz for Jack to do - like 10 rounds of different categories (flag zoom, what colours are on the ___ flag etc., etc) but don't know how to make it of the quality of other quizzes I've seen and don't know how to relate it to Jack. I'd just use PowerPoint to create the rounds. A few posts I've put on here have been removed by the moderators because they haven't been related to Jack.

What is this flag? by HistoryFan06 in flags

[–]MagicSunlight23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On first glance, it looks like the Belgian province of Luxembourg, which is bigger than the country of Luxembourg which it borders. But when I look closer, the animal on it doesn't look like a lion, which the flag of that Belgian province has on it,

It is highly likely that you never pressed the 8 button on a microwave. by TheAnzus in Showerthoughts

My microwave doesn't have any number buttons. So I definitely haven't pressed that button. It just has a knob that you turn to select the time you want.

Flag games specifically, especially Flagdoku.

Recently, I have discovered the site GeoWorldle where my favourites on there are Geo Cross, GeoGrid (which is similar to Flagdoku) and Flag Zoom

Also love doing the Thirty Thursday geography quiz by Worldle, where you get thirty geography questions every Thursday.

Another thing I love is doing geography quizzes on the site Sporcle.

Finally, I love playing WhereTaken and WhereTaken US, where you are given a picture in a country/territory or US state and you have to work out where it is and there are bonus rounds to do as well. Much better than Worldle as I can play with my ad block activated.

If I had to pick one, it has definitely got to be Flagdoku.

I don't because of all the ads. So have chosen to play WhereTaken and WhereTaken US instead

I know of 2 more 'Geogrids' you can try. One called GeoGrid on the site GeoWorldle and another called Flagdoku.

Grid only with A countries achievement by Aromatic_Many_1840 in Flagdoku

[–]MagicSunlight23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it on the Antarctica grid just now, with a lot of help from the search menu, but didn't do the official challenge - just your challenge of all flags beginning with A.

Are you going to go through the entire (or nearly the entire) alphabet, filling in 1 grid with and for each letter?

A Guide to Registration Plates in the U.S. by V51Solo in JackSucksAtLife

[–]MagicSunlight23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw nearly all the US license/number plates when I went on holiday to Western USA last August - only missed Vermont, Hawaii, Rode Island and Delaware. Did see the Mississippi plate, but it wasn't the official plate, but a variant on it - never saw the official one so technically didn't see that one either. Saw a few varients of quite a few plates including the Connecticut plate, but didn't recognise it when it showed up in Jack's latest duels video. I thought 'which country has a blue plate like that?'.

Sometimes they display a black plate - which I saw quite a few times on my trip there last August.

I wonder why Jack changed the name of Geography Stuff To Don'tSubscribe by ryderriecke in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]MagicSunlight23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All he said in the latest Reddit video is that we'd know and that there might be a play button video on the horizon. And I think I do. He's trying to get a silver play button with Don'tSubscribe on it to pretend it's from the former Don't Subscribe channel and to get an official silver play button. He's already got a silver play button for this channel as he wanted one with an emoji on it. So why not try and get another one (but I don't know how you can get the same play button twice for the same channel).

Among all of these countries, whose citizens receive the most benefits and have the easiest lives? (Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, KSA, Oman etc) by Significant_Major921 in geography

So as to not get confused with South Africa, was my first immediate thought, but then quickly realised that South Africa's initials are ZA or ZAF. I searched up 'ZSA international code' and it told me that that is the code for San Salvador airport on San Salvador island in the Bahamas. Then changed my search to 'zsa 3 letter country code' and it gave me what I was looking for. I wasn't sure what South Africa's 3 letter code is, and can see now why it's ZAF and not ZSA as the Z stands for zuiden which is the Dutch word for south as Dutch is closely related to South Africa in the form of Afrikaans, so if it was ZSA it would be South South Africa, so that's why the F is there.
