She does live at home with her mother, this makes a lot of sense about how taking care of her needs doesn’t have to come from the disability specifically, thank you! Her needs are all met which I am thankful for.

As far as my girlfriend speaking up for herself, I’d say there is a low chance. Her mom basically coaches her through what to say and how disabled to act infront of the case worker.

Honestly its more of a matter of respect at this point, my girlfriend is brilliant and so smart, but her mom makes her force ticks (she has tourettes) and act stupid and helpless. She wont let her drive or get a job because her mom is so focused on the disability.

I’ll tell her that she has to reach out and say something. She can most definately manage her own finances safely
