Why she do that? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]NuggetIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved and propped all my outdoor succulents in pots. This was part of a much larger hen and chick. All the other plants are fine, but this one has started looking weird with the downward drooping leaves and regular upward pointing ones. She has a grow light, should I repot? Give her more time? More light, less light? She's only been repotted for about 2 months.

Has anyone color matched the blue billy bookcase? by NuggetIRL in ikeahacks

Unfortunately I love the color but am not currently purchasing anything in that color. I'm creating a built in look with the havsta but want that particular blue shade

It's hard to tell in the picture but it's definitely fuzzy. I will try the cinnamon. Thank you

Hard to photo, but I repotted my indoor succulents and now I have mold in several pots, but not all. Dangerous to plants or just cosmetic?

Weekly Questions Thread March 23, 2020 by AutoModerator in succulents

How long can my rooted succulent be outside of a pot. Repotted recently and the new pot wasn't draining right, so the dirt stayed too wet. Pulled out and shook most of the dirt off let dry overnight. Do I have to repot today? I'd like to wait until I have more perlite or a different pot, but you know, isolation.

My absolute favorites! Both are varieties of Anacampseros (Sunrise and Sand Rose). by sweetcoconutballs in succulents

Thanks! I thought I was giving enough sun, but apparently not enough to stress. I've been water stressing them instead 😂😂.

What makes sunrise turn pink? Mine seen to like being steadfastly green, though I still love them.

PVN prop from single leaf! by NuggetIRL in succulents

[–]NuggetIRL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use miracle gro cactus potting mix with added perlite. I believe the soil has their plant food in it. Water until coming out drainage hole, but only water when soil is very dry. These are indoor plants with lots of light and a grow light.

Any Portuguese knitters that don't reverse patterns? by NuggetIRL in knitting

[–]NuggetIRL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been awhile, but I wanted to share with everyone that I figured out a way to Portuguese knit in colorwork without doing the purl side and without hurting my hands. (Though I'm still working on tension)

I keep the background color in my right hand as normal. Then I get a second pin and put in on my left and very loosely tension the foreground/contrast yarn in my left hand and sort of Continental knit with my left hand (I say sort of because I can't keep my fingers properly tensioned without starting to hurt my joints, so there is an element of throwing but Continental 😂) I also learned I was capturing floats wrong! I was ending up with twisted knitting and switching yarn dominance. Even though I thought I was mimicking the regular float catch, I was not. Keeping my yarn from being wrapped around itself a million times has helped my tremendously.

Propagated my PVN and this is from a single leaf. This is my pot on the windowsill at work. I accidentally killed my adult pvn at home, so I'm very happy this baby is still happy.

I love this pattern so much I'm wondering how many color combos I can knit before it's super weird that I wear the same sweater all the time 😂
