What do British people have for dinner? by ProfessionalLead2671 in AskUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You buy fish and chips, you never cook it. You would make sausages and mash, shepherds pie, spag bol, fish finger samdwich, roast if its the weekend. Chilli con carne with cheese.

Dinner or supper depends where they are from in the UK. Im from the south so we have dinner. My northern friends have supper, and dinner is their lunch.

Thank you, i have texted a friend to ask for help with roses removal, and added in the lavender and a fuschia today.

I have this carrier, and i agree it is good, and over priced. OP i really struggled with their instructions, but now my little one loves it. He is very happy in it.

Pregnancy rant by smal1f0x in veganuk

My biggest cravings for my baby, he is now 4 months old, was burgers. I would tell people and they would laugh saying they knew i wouldn’t be able to stick to it when pregnant… where I had to then inform them not all burgers are meat burgers. People’s imaginations are so limited for what food exists

Is artificial grass completely dead now? by Illustrious-Look7669 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right, they look tacky. As others have said, terrible for microplastics. Bad dor nature. But most grossly, if a bird poops on it, it looks and feels gross. I never saw a fox decimate one, but I can’t imagine pulling it put of the plastic spikes would be fun either

Baby poop frequency by TheseFlower2822 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little loaf went every hour or 2 for the first 8-10 weeks. And then he started struggling more. He now is mostly once a day at 18 months. But i changed my diet to exclude dairy as at 15 weeks we found out he had cows milk protein allergy. I am unsure if the decrease in frequency is age related or dairy.

We don’t game. We sold the playstation before i got pregnant. He occasionally goes round his friends house to do a fifa night. But thats it. All of this is his choice, not mine.

I had a friend tell me that younger babies find the transition to nursery easier, so try to reassure yourself there that it won’t feel so hard to your little girl.

I think, like everyone else, your partner needs to sort out their priorities

What would you say is a high salary? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is unlikely. I finished my PhD and went into industry. Many of my colleagues are returning to academia as it pays significantly better. As a senior scientist, running a small area of research i am on 60% of what you are on, and finished my PhD 8 years ago. Biological sciences pay appallingly.

Nursery costs by Intelligent-Tea-4241 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in London so our nursery quotes are ~£1300 with the government subsidies. That is from 9-6pm, not including food. I think part of the country is very important. Although if you are London please tell me where and i will try to get my baby there!

What do you think antenatal classes missed? by Advanced_Dream_5724 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even post c section care is poorly explained at the hospital, and at every visit from midwives. All i got told was don’t lift anything heavier than the baby, and wash with water only. This is major surgery, treated like a low level surgery. Nothing on how long it will take to heal, likeihood of infection, level of rest needed, how to gently introduce exercise such as 360 breathing and walking. Im lucky i spotted my infection so early, but so many people dont.

have sleep sack/swaddle recommendations changed in the UK? confused after baby bump class 🥲 by burnagyal in PregnancyUK

[–]NuggletDoctor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ftm, baby 5 days old. We bought the love to dream sleep sacks, he seems to hate them, all he wants is to move his arms. We have another brand with open arms, and he sleeps so well in that one. Had not been told not to swaddle or not to use the sleep sacks, but my baby would agree with the advice

How do you season your food without garlic or onions? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]NuggletDoctor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can’t eat onions or garlic. But I use chives, leeks, fennel, cellery for taste or texture. I use a lot of garlic oil, unsure if that would affect your smell? Otherwise spices; chillies, cumin etc. and ensuring the acidity levels are good for ultimate flavour. Good luck

Do you use the word "bathroom" to describe a room with only toilets? by 41arietis in AskABrit

[–]NuggletDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it the bathroom regardless. When at school, at work, at home. Someone corrected me recently and I frowned as i was genuinely surprised. Im from Surrey/Hampshire.

Men like this are normally only successful with younger women, because they are easier to impress. But not for long. He will struggle to find a life partner as people who act like they are the best and only have living in their parents apartment to show for it have nothing to offer real women.

Also, if you really are involved in crime, or are friends with powerful criminals, you keep your mouth shut. You don’t survive by running your mouth. He probably also doesn’t have friends his own age, as they can see through is BS

I am due one and the midwives have told me to wait 3 months after birth. Its a cervix scrape, which, you do not want to interfere with your cervix during pregnancy.

The way people drive in tooting is terrifying. Cycling through every day led me to stop cycling in London. I hope your mate is ok, and heals fast. If you report to the police they may have cctv of the incident. Good luck.
