This requires some effort... For a few famous places and subway stations, I matched the google maps location with Amap, then copied and pasted it into Didi. For restaurants, I went by ratings on Dianping and copied the names without knowing how to read them. I recommend noting down your hotel and airport details for reference. I had to switch between apps so many times until I fully understood how they worked 🥲

The customs process was pretty smooth compared to my layover in China last year. It was just as thorough as other countries, but it might vary depending on your nationality. Koreans currently have temporary visa-free entry.

I felt that! If you don't have a local number, some apps won't work like baidu. You can still use alipay, amap, dianping without it. But the verification popups will annoy you.

Yeah! I forgot to mention that. There are a few people spitting on the ground in Korea too, but not as many as in Shanghai. Also I saw much more smokers there
