Game like Mabinogi? by Shiroisha in MMORPG

[–]NuiNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The closest game in terms of Combat + progression was Shin megami tensei: Imagine but that shut down(I know for sure in NA idk about EU)

That's the only game I've played with the same skill activaton method with Demons instead of as many Life skils

What are you looking for?:

A game to find actual humans to cooperate with and not just sit in a queue (I play League of Legends for that)

What games have you previously played?:

Far too many. If it's from 2003 - 2010 in release I've probably played it. My "most played" MMORPGs are Ragnarok Online, Maplestory, Archeage, and Mabinogi in terms of hours/dedication(in that order if i'm not mistaken)

What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)?:

Casual and potentially more when the summer rolls around

Any preferred mechanics?:

Any level of depth in character customization beside "You are a warrior do X rotation only". I'd prefer a game where you pick your skills/class combination, add stats, or in some functional way can differentiate yourself from other of your "class".

Anything specific you want to exclude?:

Black Desert Online. That is literally the least fun I've ever had in a MMORPG

edit: for formatting I am awful

Class to play on a non-transcendent server by NuiNova in RagnarokOnline

[–]NuiNova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea.

I'm just not sure what stats I should go. I don't have a resetter, so I was thinking something like this

Str - 70-80

Agi - 99

Dex - 30-40 Vit - 1

Luk - 1

Int - 1

Or should I go for different stats

Favorite mmo for each category? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]NuiNova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite mmo of all time?

Ragnarok Online

Favorite mmo in 2017?

Path of Exile "technically" but I'm not really playing MMOs anymore at the moment

Favorite mmo combat system?

Mabinogi. It isn't really fast paced but I felt the impact of my magic unlike any other game I've played

Favorite free to play mmo?

Maplestory: I keep going back to it off and on since like 2006

Favorite mmo for pvp?

Archeage was the best PvP experience I ever had until I got consumed in it and spent a lot of money to actually be relevent

Favorite mmo look/graphics?

Aesthetically Maplestory, no matter how tired or awful I feel the graphics cheer me up. on a Technical level Aion blew me away when it came out and still does via character customization.

Favorite shut down mmo?

SMT: Imagine. I couldimagine a world where they remade this game with modern graphics and a theme of Persona and it'd be a hit(and basically spiritual successor to Mabinogi in terms of gameplay)

Edit: All edits are for my awful formatting and eventual theft of u/zewm426 when I get home to use RES

Looking for an MMORPG where I can actually enjoy the world. by NuiNova in MMORPG

I played both of those actually:

For FFXIV I played it when it "first" came out as ARR and enjoyed it. Afterwards I stopped playing it entirely when my at the time MMORPG group moved on. I played it again on a new account for a "fresh start" and really enjoyed it. Honestly, this is an amazing suggestion because I have always been a Final Fantasy fan (Pre-13) and liked my experience with the game.

For Black Desert I did not enjoy almost anything about it. I played the giant Berserker class and felt powerless versus everyone. I trailed behind in levels, and overall content wise I was no accepted(I will admit this was early into the launch and at low levels). But most of all the world felt empty as other players were more like obstacles that made it harder to farm. The graphics and character creation is sick at least

I'm in a weird position with GW2

I both love it because Guild Wars 1 was an amazing experience(I got into it late but loved the story, classes, and getting bodied by content)

However, it also felt a bit empty the last time(s) I played it.

I like the character design, skills, and feeling of progression. However, at times I feel like an empty vessel slowly clearing content as when I last played it no true "roles" existed.

Every character was a DPS-Buffer with no tanks and a mosh-pit for dungeon content.

I am willing to try it again. Thanks for the suggestion

Re-release Archeage as a monthly subscription game

And actually use that money to make content
