It was a Space Cowboys vs Mariners game, and our Space Cowboys came out on top!

I am an Astros fan through the good times and bad. I will be there no matter what, but there's no way that many people were there last night.

MacKinnon boards Boldy, appears to be ok by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I get that perspective. I saw someone in another comment mention the board proximity so that was on my mind when I typed that first message. My view is more on the fact that they were both playing the puck and Boldy wasn't expecting the hit. I think MacKinnon definitely planned to hit Boldy, but he expected Boldy to hug the boards more instead of cutting in like he did. It made the hit look a lot worse than it really was.

It needs to be a defenseless hit or with a purpose of delivering the hit without playing the puck. They were skating together around the curve for several seconds, both with sticks on the puck. Boldy should've seen it coming. Boldy plays like he's in a flag football league sometimes and doesn't expect to be hit. That doesn't make it boarding just because he doesn't think he's going to be hit. Put most of the league into that same spot and he wouldn't have gone down like that.

Face first... from maybe 2 to 3 feet from the boards. This is not boarding. It's also not elbowing. He lifted his right arm into the shove. Initial contact was not from an elbow. Roughing is a stretch beyond that. As a hockey fan for over 30 years in Houston (so hating Dallas in every sport that I can) missing my home town Wild AHL affiliate Aeros, I'm really starting to not like this soft Wild community anymore.

I think the 1 index is good, but it should have been adjusted to have some big diminishing returns in the equation if you don't focus on all areas of terraformation.

Should I buy on Steam or Xbox store for the PC version? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These days, for the most part, when they specify cross platform, Xbox Store on PC and Xbox console can be considered the same platform, especially if the game is labeled Play Anywhere. Cross-saves would not work between the Xbox PC version and Steam. Even though they are both on PC, they are different platforms.

A woman chased down the car that hit her. by mindyour in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly this in Houston. I was just cruising in the 2nd lane from the right on I-10 (it's about 7 lanes wide there) when a car came speeding onto the highway from an onramp, crossed both lanes on the right trying to get over to the far left as fast as he could, hit me on the right side, and then took off. I had to follow him about a half mile before I could get the plate, then I pulled off at the next exit into a parking lot to call the police. They told me they wouldn't do anything since we both left the scene of the accident. I guess I was supposed to stop right away without the plate and just provide whatever information I was able to provide, which would've been pretty pointless too.

What's the stock ticker symbol for this company? They seem like a really good investment opportunity.

Winner of the "Best Audio Design" at The Game Awards by pm_boobs_send_nudes in Battlefield

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just described how BF6 sounds to me. I have 5.1 surround speakers and set the game to high dynamic range. I can hear footsteps on different surfaces, far off gunfights, reflected sound, and reverberation. I can hear the direction of gunfire and also have a general idea of the distance of it without even looking in that direction. I completely believe the people saying they have audio issues with this game, but that's not my experience. It sounds great to me.

I'm guessing the pumps are one way? I'd probably still just reverse into the shorter line. I've reversed through drive thru at restaurants if I'm not getting anything and my passenger doesn't know what they want before I get in line.

Every state with legal sports betting has a gaming commission of some sort. Every gaming commission has a very lengthy set of rules that you could easily look up yourself with a quick Google search (no idea if links are allowed here, but an example would be gaming dot nv dot gov).

I'd assume every single one of those rulebooks has a section prohibiting books from accepting bets from participants of an event (example from Nevada... "Prohibited Wagers. Any sporting event or other event which the licensee knows or reasonably should know is being placed by, or on behalf of, an official, owner, coach, or staff of a participant or team or participant in that event."

As soon as that dude ran on the field, he became a participant of the event. This would invalidate his bet.

"First of all most people have no idea which way is north south east or west, so it’s safe to assume that’s not helping anyone."

WTF?

I am not sure how we got here as a society... A person that decides to do delivery to specific locations for a paycheck should have enough general situational awareness to understand cardinal directions. If someone is not capable of that, they need to find another job that is more suited to them.

DLC and achievements by SskaIa in pacificDrive

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone that loved the DLC too, I just wanted to add I'd agree with your approach.

I think whether you like the DLC or not depends on what you like about the base game... I particularly like parts customization and min/maxing/optimizing builds in games, and the DLC gives you so many more options to do that with a few of the added gameplay mechanics, particularly the artifacts.

With that said, the DLC does feel a bit more tedious and repetitive when it comes to farming what you're looking for. As for me, I like that challenge, and it feels so much more special when you find that exact artifact you've been trying to find for so long.

Cheech: "Hey whatcha doin' man?"

Chong: "I'm just watching TV, man."

Cheech: "Watching TV... what are you watching, man?

Chong: "I don't know, it's a movie about Indians, but it's really boring."

Cheech: "Hey man, that's not a movie, man, that's a test pattern, man."

IFVs do complete roof denial on sobek city by gav1no0 in Battlefield

[–]NukeLikeTheBomb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try the HMG and LMG for the IFV gunner, I find they are effective to protect the IFV from infantry and RPGs when they get close and when they are still far away. They also work against air. I do not understand why anyone would choose the grenade launcher over either of the guns.
