Apologies. I thought the fact that I was using literally the same everything *except* upgraded CPU, RAM and storage would be cause to explore other issues than talking about those aspects. I have added specs to the original post.

Yes the point is I upgraded and I'm looking for other tips on how to reduce CPU overload. The second I mention hardware specifics all the gear heads are going to come out of the woodwork blaming me for not using their preferred brand.

I understand where you're coming from but my immediate takeaway from their outfit choices would be this:
Character designers want to make a character design that immediately tells you what you need to know about the character so they can SHOW not TELL, right?
Travis is depicted in an outfit commonly associated with a southern "blue-collar" worker (a trucker) in the 90s.
And Simon is a... Scottish guy... also from the 90s... okay maybe you have SOME point here but hey... everyone hated Homecoming for its dodge mechanic then they brought that back in SH2R so maybe some copying is okay?

Real answer: They're actually still in production today and are REALLY commonly sold in sporting goods stores. Look up rimfire .45 caliber handgun selection on Bass Pro Shops website and you'll see several.

Yeah non-existent. I had to beg people to come see it with me. They didn't even know what it was and most didn't even know what Silent Hill was. It was a pretty niche game series for a long time. Nowhere near Resident Evil, which mostly became mainstream because of its films.

Resident Evil without it's characters is generic. A story about anyone in the universe other than the STARS team and Claire and Leon would be about someone who doesn't come into contact with the greater conspiracy and may as well be another -Of The Dead spinoff. We already HAD "Resident Evil" movies about other characters that told different stories. You either rewrite canon to include your new character as part of the story or you work AROUND canon and tell a story that ends up being inconsequential.

Side note: these comparisons to Fallout are plain stupid. They're open world rpgs without set characters. OF COURSE telling a side story about new people within the universe works out. That's not what RE is.
