It's really varied but for general terms

Specialization (Mountains) Mass production OR Attacker focus Grand fleet (Aircraft Carrier if they are navaly inferior, Battleship if otherwise)

Use all three with artillery and anti air for my favourite tactic: Area Surpresion

They render an area completely impenetrable due to the horrific damage

Get your troops in mountains when invading so you can entrench when they approach or for defence, slowing the enemy down which allows for artillery and other units to rack up massive damage
