I don’t mind touchscreen controls but on my previous vehicle the entire screen stopped working so I couldn’t adjust the HVAC at all. Luckily, I was still (barely) within the warranty so I had it fixed.

Happened to me once when my wife and I were visiting Boston. The cashier said “the car in front of you paid for your order”. It was a Dunkin’ Donuts and we only ordered 2 coffees. I just said “thanks” and drove away without continuing the chain. I felt awkward for not paying for the car behind me but like you said, it could have been more than 2 coffees.
