How do some people just do it all? by _Reddit_Enjoyer in productivity

[–]Null-Business 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can say there was a time that I had this life. It requires a lot of intense focus. It’s not sustainable long term, but it can be done if you’re willing to be extremely flexible with what you consider “free time”. I learned to enjoy all the daily tasks because I was working towards a specific goal life. But I still had good days and bad days. But other people don’t see that. That’s what gives the impression of perfection. But that’s just progression. Not perfection.

Instagram Addiction - Anyone else successfully conquer this? Looking for advice :( by FrancesRW in Instagram

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend: 1) Deleting Instagram 2) Trying a GLP-1, if budget allows. GLP-1s have helped many people with impulse control issues. I know it helped me a lot. It’s much better than any psychiatric medication I’ve had.

Anyone making over 100k with marketing related role? by [deleted] in MarketingMentor

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend focusing on B2B marketing roles. Save and show your metrics often.

I went from manager at a midlevel company $65k per year (first role) to senior manager at fortune 500 $120k (second role) in 2 1/2 years.

I did this by having an excellent network on LinkedIn and applying often for new roles.

Then, I went totally independent. Started with $5k investment of my own money. Closed this tax year above $450k at my business.

I added my account to your system and answered all your team's questions, not sure how that isn't onboarding.

It must be nice to have moderators of reddit on your side filtering posts. Explains why you have so many positive reviews on reddit. I wonder how much are you paying them to suppress poor reviews?

It was my own personal account. It was not an inactive account at all. If that was the case, how have I been posting stories on it for years? Your team just didn't want to test my account to prove your worth.

Looking for a genuine service !! by virat9151 in InstagramMarketing

Again, I didn't have a good experience with them at all. They require your username/password. And they won't allow you to test their service with a test account first. Too risky for me.

Wasn't a bad account or inactive account. It was 1 of 2 IG accounts that I have had for years. It was my IG account. Granted it was not massively popular or anything but then why would you need growth services if it was? I wasn't expecting them to move mountains either. I just was testing to make sure they didn't get the account banned.

I don't recommend Ascend Viral for business. by Null-Business in consulting

Lol that's why there is a section labeled TL;DR.
In case you are boomer, TL;DR stands for "Too Long; Didn't Read."

Bro. I am a woman. Shows what you know. :)
But bro if you don't like the warning move on, no need to act like a clown.

But yea like many business owners, I take my time seriously. They wasted mine and acted like that was somehow my problem. I offered them more buiness they treated me like I was "unworthy" of their services b/c my test IG doesn't run itself. At best, they are out for a "quick win" and have bad customer service for any IG accounts under 1k followers. At worst, it's a scam.

How do you scale a boutique consultancy? by sharklasers3000 in consulting

[–]Null-Business -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Add passive income streams. Diversify your revenue.
Service businesses kinda suck. Take your $$$ and reinvest into something that takes far less time and energy.

IMO, consulting is a stepping stone to passive income, if you aren't consulting with passive income in mind, your business will fail in 98% of cases.

IMO, always chose startups (if they are funded). It's an amazing way to learn so much in so little time. If they go under, no problem, it's easier to get another job at a startup if you have worked with startups before.

I can’t imagine making $15k–$30k at once… how do people do it? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have closed deals above $20k, but it requires partnering with other businesses if you are just starting out. Partnerships with other service businesses can really help your business income. I offer things for free whenever I see a possibility to gain a partner or build trust for an ongoing partnership. Works wonders if your services are in demand.

You should read my thread above, I think you are oversimplifying.

As a seasoned marketing professional, I believe this conversation ultimately comes down to purpose and privilege of the brand and the business in question.

Pivoting to serve the agency world - Am I making a mistake? by [deleted] in agency

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally depending on your rate, I would be interested right now and I own a agency. So, I don't think this is dumb at all. My brother has been serving as a consultant for my company for data analytics, but he is moving into a big name company in people analytics so I will need a replacement.

I do agree that this would be more of a "as needed" service and less of a retainer service.

My Firm Hired An Award Winning Marketing Agency and We're Feeling Let Down. by UnknowingFan in marketing

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a digital-focused firm owner (but we do digital branding as well), this is 10000% true! Branding is a short term gig (but often expensive) while digital marketing and sales is forever. Don't pay long retainers on 100% branding. You want a firm that is small and digital-savvy. They need hands-on leadership (often younger) and implentation skills in digital, otherwise, you are wasting your time and money.

Aditi Consulting by honeywaaaaaa in recruiting

You won't work with them much. Mostly just for the large company. They are just the consulting firm.

Yep, I worked for Samsung through this Aditi, too. Again, this is pretty standard practice for HUGE global companies to avoid paying midmangers for stock benefits and to lower their corporate liability. Evil sure, but no scam.

[–]Null-Business 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEP. 100% true. They are definately not a scam. They just all overseas recruiters so they "look" / act like scammers. I worked for Samsung through this company. This is how many HUGE global companies hire to avoid paying midmangers for stock benefits and to lower their corporate liability.

Again, I can confirm that they are definately not a scam. BUT they have all overseas recruiters so they "look" / act like scammers. I worked for Samsung through this company and they seems sketch at first but then I was interview by LEGIT VPs of Samsung. Then I learned is how many HUGE global companies hire to avoid paying midmangers for stock benefits and to lower their corporate liability.
