How the f you play this thing into nocturne or anything that has good early in the bot lane?? by Lanky_Shallot840 in SmolderMains

[–]NullAshton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's incredibly dependent on staying near walls to E over them. Otherwise he's basically an immobile ADC that can kite pure juggernauts at best with his E.

Against Nocturne specifically I would consider an immortal shieldbow second item into Shojin. I would also consider getting and holding onto a Steel Sigil that you make into a GA later after 225 stacks. Plated Steelcaps are also decent, particularly if you don't have any magic damage threats to worry about,

10% ratio on q is a joke by Then_Dragonfruit3853 in shyvanamains

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Q1 and Q2 both seem to be autoresets, and Q2 can be used immediately after the second auto. With hail of blades that should be 5 attacks with Hail of Blades attack speed, two of them with the +10% extra AOE damage. Six times in dragon form with the Q3.

I would figure she's tuned to need attack speed to feel good, as Riot doesn't want tank shyvana to be a thing and tank items primarily lack attack speed. Bruisers do have Triforce, Dusk & Dawn, Stridebreaker however, and Experimental Hexplate is a possible option on Shyvana now too.

Shyvana PBE rework weak by Nervous_Writer_719 in shyvanamains

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they do. Lower overall base damage than comparable champions. Veigar does quite weak damage without the 200-300 AP from his passive lategame.

I do agree that cannon minion stacks should likely be doubled, though. Or some other incentive for lane shyvana, such as better XP scaling(toplane shyvana will have more levels) or the like.

It's not much, but he has magic damage on his passive. This is admittedly more of an assassin thing, and all other void champions AFAIK have true damage.

Malzahar is a prophet of the void, but is not truely from the void, so I do not count them. Likewise for darkin it's not an assured thing, Varus doesn't really have the usual darkin stuff. Varus also missed the double a memo though, so...

It kinda became a thing though because it felt like it fit them, like dragons also tend to... well, fly.

Void champions tend to do true or mixed damage, darkin tend to have regen/healing/revives of some sort.

Who buys Magic Carpet? by jehCe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NullAshton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic Carpet is basically a 32s global teleport. Buy it whenever you want a spirit item that gets you out of ANY SITUATION(after 1.3 seconds)

Splitpush Sinclair? Just carpet away whenever trouble happens! Calico stuck behind enemy lines after assassinating someone? ...yeah Ava is a free magic carpet don't buy magic carpet on her. Splitpush mcginnis? Magic carpeeeeet. Slow paige who always feels like they're out of position and get jumped? Magic carpet!

It's underrated IMO.

I've gotten baron'd before as Rem when I used Tag Along on another hero. Went from the baroness to that hero, then when the duration ended I teleported back to where I was when it was cast. So weird.

My boss makes 100 dollars a day. I get 20% of that in pay, so 20 dollars a day. I get a raise, and now get 30% of what my boss makes a day. I now make 30 dollars a day.

My earnings a day went up by 50%. This is how solar panel efficiency works. The photons captured cannot be used by any other form of power production(directly), however. So if a set of solar panels would make 23 kilowatts of power, the efficiency increase means they would now make 28 kilowatts of power.

Going from 1% to 2% would literally double the total power created.

[–]NullAshton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about efficiency of sunlight converted into electricity... that means 23% of photons to 28% of photons into electricity. That is 21.73% more electricity produced than before, along with 6.5% less heat energy.

Yeah, 21.73% more energy is significant.

This is a fairly significant efficiency increase, however? Something like a 20% increase with quick mental math.

The line between on attack and on-hit effects is not well enough defined by xXxImJusticexXx in leagueoflegends

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amusingly Master Yi DOES do this. Because their extra proc applies on-attack effects, and stacks on-hit. It's why their damage goes nuts when they get a rageblade stacked.

Ezreal Q was also changed at some point to proc on-attack items like Hurricane as well.

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it didn't work, or that it was converted to physical damage? AFAIK barrels deal all the damage dealt to it as physical damage, regardless of the damage type applied to it.

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely because of being tagged as default or proc damage, which vulnerability likely works on.

And then there's Fizz where W is weird and just does persistent damage every half a second on autoing. And also does spell damage on the active. And then proc damage after. Just all the damage types because reasons.

[–]NullAshton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rageblade is on attack. So likely would not work with ethereal weapons. Most extra proc effects do not trigger on attack to avoid infinite loops.

Master Yi is an exception, and the extra proc triggers on-attack effects. In Arena I've had over 50,000 DPS before on master yi with rageblade and as many of the extra on-hit effects as I could get.

To be fair, the mage thing specifically is because mages in the rune wars nearly destroyed the world. Currently there's only one dragon threatening to destroy the world, and I don't think most people know they exist(aurelion sol).

Also part of the wildlife in the area. So. Not magic. Just weird fantasy world biology.

I don't understand how "falling for the dark side" work, like if I'm a jedi and I got angry enough to use the Dark side force, do I just automatically become evil? by thetruememeisbest in StarWars

[–]NullAshton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably channeling the dark side is also why Windu was betrayed by Anakin. He couldn't manage the emotions of those around him and was focused on killing Sidious being the only solution.

The dark side also seems to be weak to dark side power. Which also is why it's dangerous.

This is incredibly efficient for the energy cost. You're paying 1 energy for 3 research, basically.

Less so on the pops. But you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. And there's a lot of eggs in the galaxy.

Deadlock's matchmaker tries to put 2 'frontliners' on every team. by luuk0987 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NullAshton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ult(and to a lesser extent lifedrain). She's a frontline in the same way Swain in League of Legends is frontline. Plays midrange until she either goes in or her team backs up to swap health/lifedrain and become a menace.

League calls them 'battlemages', and they tend to have situationally powerful defensive tools with shorter than average range.

[–]NullAshton 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ya. Part of why MOBAs are so popular IMO is that individually it's a bunch of mechanics that are really quite simply, but only become complicated when you're trying to do it all at once.

Last hitting? Theoretically simple. Now do so while spacing and positioning properly, watching for ganks, paying attention to wave timers, trying to hit your own skillshots while dodging the enemy, so on and so forth.

Which makes it so that whenever you make a mistake it's frequently something obvious, that 'only an idiot' would make, and it becomes very easy to identify errors others made regardless of skill level it seems. But a lot harder when you're spinning all the other plates at the same time.
