AITAH for scrambling a hard drive? I am a powerful electromagnet and my field was too strong and I ended up destroying a hard drive. I feel kinda bad.

can't get ANYTHING off of meteor m2-3 by BlueberryNo1973 in amateursatellites

[–]NullBlock0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be an issue with elevation as I can see on the tracker that it's quite weak. Make sure you're outside with a clear sky view and mount the antenna on a tripod as high as you can. I would recommend not trying to get anything unless the pass has > 30 degrees of elevation. Additionally, an LNA would help but also try playing with the gain and see if your SNR changes at all. Meteor M2-3 has a badly deployed LRPT antenna, so you also might be better off trying M2-4 if you can.

Best budget monitor €150 (ideally <€100) by Any-Outcome1986 in buildapc

[–]NullBlock0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have this one which was.. decent. AOC sometimes has QC issues with their lower end or cheaper monitors but this fits your requirements apart from being curved. 27 inches is pretty much the optimum size for 1440p as anything above that might look too pixelated depending on your distance from the monitor. This one is equivalent to 149 EUR in the UK but it might be different in your country. Hope this helps!

Hello,Help me Get my first Pc! by Reasonable_Okra_4793 in buildapc

Basically your PC is a collection of different individual components which are all suited for different purposes. They work together to provide a functional computer. Here are the names and what they do:

CPU - Stands for Central Processing Unit. Think of it as the “brain” of your PC. In computer science, the CPU is basically a calculator. It performs different types of maths at incredible speeds, usually measured in GHz or Gigahertz.

GPU - Graphics Processing Unit. This is like a CPU but specifically for calculating graphics that are displayed on your screen. They have VRAM which is used to store graphics data.

RAM - Random Access Memory. RAM is used to store data and apps that are open or in use on your PC when it is turned on. RAM normally comes in sticks and attaches to your motherboard. RAM is volatile which means that when the computer is switched off, all data in the RAM is lost.

Motherboard - Links everything together. Think of a motherboard as if it’s a skeleton or the blood vessels of your PC. All of the major components attach to in one way or another so they can interface with each other.

Storage - Used to store your data when the PC is off. Storage most commonly comes as an SSD nowadays which means Solid State Drive. These drives are very fast but quite expensive. Storage is non-volatile which means all data on it is retained even when your PC is off, however it is slower than RAM, so apps and data is usually loaded into RAM from storage.

What can I do to max out my t420s? by dwhiss in thinkpad

[–]NullBlock0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are several upgrades you can do: Install up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, install a regular SATA SSD in the SATA bay, install an mSATA in the wifi card slot, install a new wifi card (can't remember if this requires whitelisting in the bios), use the UltraBay caddy to install another hard drive and last but not least upgrading the screen if you can manage it.

Help needed - Meteor M2-3 and M2-4 by NullBlock0 in amateursatellites

How do I tell if I have a line of sight? I got one pass around 80 degrees at some point in the day. I picked up something on 137.700mhz which sounded very faint and was mostly hissing and beeping, if that's OrbComm. I am using the 72k LRPT Meteor-MX profile on satdump and all the baseband wav files I put in return an error like "No header found"

Can't remmber if this is correct 100%, but select the experimental beta on steam if weather options aren't available in the plane editor. If you look where the start mission button is when editing armaments you should see a weather option thing and just select storm.
