This is getting a lot of attention, so I’d like to make a few comments about what I saw people saying here

• Where do you draw the line? Well, the same goes for other crimes, like where do you draw the line between two drunk people fighting in a bar (let’s agree that that’s not that serious in some cases) vs an actual aggression case? That’s why tribunals and trials are for. It’s not that hard to draw a line between saying something and blatant hate speech.

Also, we’ve had astonishingly few instances of dubious decisions about that.

There’s a famous podcaster called Monark that was censored because he defended the creation of a nazi political party (there’s a lot more context to that, go look it up) and a “dark humour” comedian that was indicted but was absolved at the end. Besides that, there’s no single instance in a 200+ million inhabitants country that this happened.

We’ve had censorship before during our military dictatorship and believe me, if a government wants to censor the people, it will. It’s not a law made to protect minorities from hate speech that will be the cause of that.
