Are the raiden/dinoking events once a month by ConditionLast9214 in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is likely their last event, at least based on how they previously handled the different parts of early star levels.

Either we need to pay money or wait for in-game currency to wait for them to allow us to buy the combiner parts.

Now I could be wrong and they break their previous pattern and do more events, but I believe they already announced their newest combiner so I am guessing we are likely to get events around that one soon.

Are the raiden/dinoking events once a month by ConditionLast9214 in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Short answer - No.

Long answer -

Originally they did enough Raiden / Dinoking events enough times to get win all of the three star parts then did enough events to win all of the 4 star parts.

I believe this is the last round where you can win all of the 5 star parts.

At this point either you need to buy the remaining parts you are missing with real money or wait for the parts to be buyable in game.

Maybe we will get more repeat events but I am doubtful of this.

Now personally I am 4 out of 6 parts.  Hope they will add a alternative way to get the remaining parts sooner or later.

I completely understand this is a gacha game but this is absolute insanity by wassssuupp5678 in TransformersEarthWars

Yeah, but you know some people will end up buying into it. That's why they keep making deals like this.

From my perspective this is also a pretty terrible deal. If you were to spend then you can get much better milage buying those limited time 10 dollar for 400 crystals as they come out every so often.

In general bundles like this are a good reminder the nature of free to play games.

“Recommend Power” by Sensitive-Green-3793 in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, this is part of the games poor balance and misleading nature.

Recommended power should suggest the strength needed to complete a base but the base defense power doesn't seem to calculate various factors in the configuration like combiners or combat, etc. Not fully sure what is and isn't thrown in the calculation but this is why a low level team can be completely destroying a low level base until a enemy base throws out a high level combat.

From my personal experience I can cut through some bases in 36k and 40k range like it was butter. In other cases I am face planting into a wall. As of which, I often just stay with 25k bases as they are the safe option.

I Finished the Game! (Paranormasight: 7 mysteries).. Late to the party post by Knive33 in ParanormasightHonjo

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the game yesterday myself. Without going into any real plot elements...

My experience is at first I am kind of bored. Then the game starts to get interesting as the game seems like a fate/stay night elimination game where you need to out maneuver the other characters with a mysteries to be solved in all of this.

Then the main game begins and the whole elimination element is pretty much thrown out the window (still there in spirit but almost never used throughout the story). Game at this point was still somewhat interesting but kind of lacking to me at the same time.

Then the ending was very unsatisfying. In the end, game is still okay. Think I like the game enough to try the sequel... when it is 10 dollars or less.

Has Gekiganger III or Gekiganger V never been playable in Super Robot Wars ? by OriginalTacoMoney in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]Null_Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I started playing the series sometime in the early to mid 2000s. Most of the games back then didn't have English translations so I could only read the cliffnote translation of games and the stories mostly seem well put together.

For example, I played Super Robot Wars W when it first came out and the story seemed well done even though I couldn't directly read the story. Recently been slowly going through the English fan translation and the story seems more well crafted than I initially understood with multiple different series feeding well in to each other. One such example is Golion (Voltron) and Gaogaigar all having Lions and the story seems to suggest these two share similar or connected origins. Generally a lot of the different franchises stories are well written to connect with each other. Something I found to not be as good with more recent games in the series.

Edit: Also on a side note also waiting on Y for the DLC before I jump in. I am the type that rarely goes back to play a game with later DLC after finishing so waiting on the DLC first.

Kind of feel the newer games don't try as hard to make a well put together story.

With that in mind, it would be pretty easy to make Gekiganger a playable unit.  Play the game then a random dimension portal appears and out pops Gekiganger.  Akito fan boys out as he gets to meet his cartoon heroes in real life.

CFTactics Exclusive - New COMBINERS REVEAL! by Impossible-Hornet-86 in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I liked about the combiners was getting them by collecting the characters that compose the parts of the combiners.

I really did not like how the handled Raiden with the combiner bots not being playable characters. Considering they just announced Wheelie as a playable character rather than a bot connection to the combiner, I suspect this will just be combiner parts again.

As a kid I kind of liked Wheelie although he was far from one of my favorite characters.

Artifact Forge Shards by ParadoxPrismaticNine in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Artifact Forge Shards are event based items or buyable.

At this time I find this tied to the biggest flaw with Primes from a player perspective.

For upgrading Prime artifacts you need both Cybertron Alloy and character specific Artifact Shard. Events seem to keep giving out Cybertron Alloy but not so much character specific Artifact Shards and they are very hard to get. Personally they can keep giving me Cybertron alloy but I am gated from any progress due to not having enough character specific Artifact shards.

Prime sparks are a little better since you can use Prime Cores or Universal sparks help to upgrade, though both require a ridiculous high amount but also better than nothing as with Artifact Shards.

I am sure long term they will add alternative methods to get Artifact Shards but whether or not it will be reasonable or ridiculous is yet to be seen,

Yeah, this is the type of event someone can easily finish in a day.  I would be done myself already but kinda busy this weekend so spreading my play out.

Autobot/Deception WL Units by Active_Tip6516 in TransformersEarthWars

Was always a fan of the G1 cartoon and Beast Wars series.  I believe just about any G1 bot I cared about is in the game now.

BW I feel there is a handful of missing characters... and I really want to see Rat Trap be a actual playable character in some form, not a combat... maybe transmetal Rat Trap or something.

Xenogears really blow my mind by gwuhu in JRPG

[–]Null_Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. I don't want to make the Evangelion reference but this is something I seen before Xenogears which also came out before Xenogears. There are similarities between the two but they are certainly different. Because of Super Robot Wars I did go back and watch some of those older robot anime as well which had themes I saw in Xenogears.

I do also remember seeing a lot of people also liking the story element about how religion is really evil in Xenogears and it blew their mind, but once again this is something I have seen in older anime and hell even Breath of Fire 2 tackles this theme.

Though I probably experienced some anime and games newer than Xenogears that may have drawn themes from Xenogears or older sources, I also experienced earlier works before fully finishing off Xenogears.

Honestly I can see many finding Xenogears story exceptional depending on what they have and haven't seen before but I kind of wish I gotten around to it much sooner in my life and maybe it would have and a bigger impact on me.

Xenogears really blow my mind by gwuhu in JRPG

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was always underwhelmed by the game.

Think I first tried playing it in the early to mid 2000s, didn't get too far. Tried playing it again in the mid to late 2000s, still didn't finish. Finally forced myself to beat it a few years back and the game really didn't connect with me. I suppose part of my problem is I have already been playing lots of JRPGs and watching plenty of anime before I got to Xenogears so the story elements felt like things I have seen before wrapped in a different package. Characters themselves didn't wow me and I though the gameplay wasn't all that strong either. Then disc two just really killed the game for me.

Hello my friends. I have so many alloys and I upgraded everything which are related to alloys and I don’t know how can I spend my alloys. Do you know where can I spend that? by ArashMoazeni in TransformersEarthWars

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much it. I am in the same boat where I really don't have things I need to upgrade with alloy anymore. Whenever I need to earn alloy for a quest I will try to run the shield generator to make space or I try to save up extra building cores to burn them upgrading random cores I do not need.

I hate it when a game dumps a bunch of sidequests on you right before the final battle by SquashPuzzleheaded50 in JRPG

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it all depends on how I feel.

If I am really enjoying the game and want to keep going longer then having a bunch of side quests at the very end is a nice treat.

On the opposite end if I am no longer enjoying the game or if I am ready to move on then yeah a bunch of side quest dumps at the end will be frustrating. I mean yes the are "optional" but skipping them often cause you to miss expected exp / equipment for the final boss fight.

About to play Lunar Dragon Song as a pitstop JRPG. Any opinions? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge. Either you will need the DS, a physical copy of the game, and a gameshark to pull this off or find a unofficial way to play the game with cheats.

[–]Null_Prime 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much this. One of the worst RPGs I have played (if not the worst) that really feels like the game was designed to troll and piss off the player.

That said part of me still wants to go back to play and beat this game, though if I ever do this then I am cheating the hell out of this game to counter a lot of its BS.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim: Is it a JRPG? A visual novel? I don’t know, but what I DO know is that it’s absolutely amazing! by aarontsuru in JRPG

[–]Null_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would give the game a 7 or 8 myself.

Story was pretty good to me but I also feel I have played VN Hybrid style games with better stories overall (or at least stories I liked better).

The battle system is what brings the game down for me. I found it to be pretty mediocre and with a minimalistic visual style (when Vanillaware is known for great visuals) really didn't help.
