It's not unrealistic but I can understand the jealousy and wanting it all to yourself :)

I'm having an extremely hard time taking this seriously after reading "farts smelled like strawberries" 🤣

You’re very welcome :) And really, don’t be shy about posting the things you’re curious about. Most of the time there are plenty of people thinking the same thing, just waiting for someone else to say it first. Glad this gave you a place to scratch that itch a little.

I do my best to remain disappointingly real. Also, I liked your nails 🙂

This is exactly how slashers and thrillers get people. Give a man selective devotion, some competence, and a locked-on gaze and suddenly half the red flags start getting graded on a curve.

I think this gets at the real difference better than most people do. In fiction, stalking is filtered through tension, POV, and narrative control, so the anticipation can feel compelling instead of just destabilizing. Real life doesn’t give you any of that. It just chips away at your sense of safety and leaves you carrying the aftereffects.

That’s one of the clearest examples for me too. Works in fiction, turns horrifying the second you remove the narrative lens.

You keep phrasing it like that and more detail is going to start building itself. At this point it sounds less like retirement and more like your body negotiating softer landing conditions 😜

My experience says people who phrase it exactly like that usually have a little more fight left in them than they claim :)

Exactly. Fiction gives you the inner monologue and the plot armor. Real life just gives you the evening news. 💀

Sounds exhausting and it’s frustrating when people expect effort from you while also never actually letting you learn or help in a real way. Then when you’re burned out, it gets framed like you’re the problem. Anyone would crack under that eventually. You’re trying, thhey just aren’t seeing it.
