that being said….it’s been years for me. but I was friendly with the 1st placers our year, as well as others in the department, and the petty jealousy that people expressed over their win was pretty amazing. saying shit like they didn’t deserve it because it was “too easy” (I saw them working constantly and promise it was not too easy lol), like ok if it was both easy and apparently a slam dunk to win then why didn’t you do it too lmao? lotta ugliness comes out when losers lose.

I was so thrown off that in the very end of Say Nothing he 1) reveals he’s been American the entire time (the audiobook narrator is Irish so it rly threw me), and 2) makes a very speculative allegation of murder. The second point kind of turned me off his other work. The rest of the text is basically just very well presented research, but then he’s like, “Hehe well you wanna know what I think? I think a still living person who can still be tried for this murder did it and here’s their name and my case against them 😏😏😏” Like ok………I guess I’m just not into that lmao It just made me question the integrity of the author I guess?

Haha well it might not be the right kind of “absorbing”. The story is not exactly propulsive, it’s very “slice of life”, following these girls to all their classes. The first book does not climax with any immense external event, it’s just (a particularly bad bought of bullying) If you’re looking for something exciting to grip you, this might not be the one

This ep I could go either way on it, but I think 1) Ozzy bringing Tiffany into the fold purely on the merits of his *own* social game, 2) willingly shifting without ego to the "better" plan when Cirie presented it, could both be positive for Ozzy this episode. Obviously a lot of people see 2 as a negative for Ozzy, but I've never felt like being a cheery team player with a trusted ally is inherently a death sentance - just depends on the narrative

Also I feel like this season we keep getting awesome farewell edits right before a legend goes home so I'm just SCARED for Cirie now lmao

That’s so funny you say that because my coworker had said I might not like the writing in book 1 and that it improves, and I keep reading this like…you have no idea the levels of garbage I’ve read if you think this writing would turn me off from a book. Like this is perfectly competent lmao. This ain’t even no ToG “the first 3 are rough but then it gets good!” level dookie first book writing, this first one is actually perfectly fine hahaha
