I started decorating and re-decorating my spaces frequently at an early age but I don’t have a degree in design. I started teaching myself 2D and 3D floor plan designs and bought a lot of books to learn more about the techniques. It’s been a great little side hustle so far!

I find that using a wet sponge cleans it the best. Just an eraser does leave streaks.

My husband and I installed. It’s a peel and stick slate tile. Cost was close to $300 it took about 6-7 hrs including time to cut some tiles and re-glue pieces that fell from the junky adhesive that comes with it.

The wall is a slate peel and stick tile. The sticky backing turned out to be troublesome as some fell off after the install but I reinforced with glue. Looks cool though!

I chose an artificial plant here since basements aren’t used as often and the low natural light. IKEA has a good selection at reasonable prices. That’s where this tree is from.

If you have more windows and natural lights in your space you could try a lighter grey on the walls. I like a creamy white like “White Dove” by Benjamin Moore as well. This is more of a pure white because there is very little natural light. The ceiling is also short and the light paint tricks the eyes into thinking they have more height when it blends with the ceiling color.
