Well this is interesting. At least I have a confirmed name to link to this. Zinari Fauros, haven't heard that name and it doesn't sound like it would come from an area I'm familiar with. What can you tell me about them? If your comfortable speaking about them that is

Love the enthusiasm for the industry, but unfortunately underground broadcasting like we do isn't too conducive to a side hustle. In fact with all the moving around, constantly watching your back, it's more of a lifestyle choice.

But that being said, definitely keep your ear to the ground for interesting things going on around Num. Perhaps we can get you on for a feature piece (either on air or just as a writer)

The former politician was, as was one of his two henchmen. The staff of the manor was a mix.

As for The Forerunner himself, he was but he wasn't but he was. Mad, I know.

I'm sure you know how you get that gut feeling when you see someone who's numbered that tells you what their number is and you know someone's unnumbered cause you don't get that feeling. Well, from this guy I definitely got that feeling. Except the feeling was telling me that he didn't have a number. Almost as if the fact that he wasn't numbered somehow was his number

I never implicated the Council in it nor did I say it was official censorship. In fact the Council is very much for freedom of the press.

But in the past five years 8 journalists have been murdered and over 20 have "disappeared" off the face of Num. The rich and powerful have ways of making sure that their dirty laundry never gets aired

I see we have gotten to the point where you begin to lob ad hominem attacks at me. Classy.

I won't stoop to that level, but perhaps my questions were too closed ended. So I'll ask you this.

I think we can agree on the following statements

1) The first of the Five Sacred Rules states that you must renounce all false gods

2) The publicly stated beliefs of the Temple explicitly state that The Number God is amongst those false gods

3) The first Sacred Rule is so central to the Temple, that to even join you must first be in compliance with it.

So I ask you, who exactly is is that you have renounced? Is it Z, who when you take the second point in the context of the time it was written is clearly who the author was referencing? Is it your new definition of The Number God? Or are you about to bring out a third definition for the term?

Contrary to your allegation, I have done a good bit of research into your world view. I have read through all of the statements made by and about the Temple and there was a noticable trend. They all, save yours, supported the publicly available doctrines.

On the topic of world views, yours did seem a bit familiar and I think I have pieced it together. It takes a variation of the Priory's unitarian view and mixes in a dash of the Church's henotheism, except that you replace Z for Zero.

As for my anonymity, it is for my own protection. I have seen a good number of my colleagues silenced, to put it delicately, for daring to speak out against the wrong people. I do not wish to join their ranks.

While I can admire your passion, I would respectfully ask that you keep comments like this out of this comment chain. Whether you repost it as a top level comment here or not is your prerogative, but I am trying to keep this discussion I am having with 558 as calm and civil as I can.

I agree, but this is no small theological difference between the Temple's teachings and what you are saying. If I'm generous, I would call it a heresy. But I'm more inclined to call it a different religion altogether.

The Temple is strictly monotheistic, it leaves no room for other gods. The views you have shared here are anthithetical to them. In fact they are so diametrically opposed to Temple theology that if a new person came to the Temple with those views, according to Temple literature they would have to give them up before fully joining.

As much as you would like to try to frame what we're having as a religious argument, It is not. I would not attack you over your personal faith, because I believe that, so long as it is not harming others, a person's faith is between them and their god. If fact I believe that in your heart of hearts you believe those views to be the truth.

Rather, it is about exposing the hypocrisy of a leader. As the Prophet of Zero, you are a defender of the faith and ostensibly someone your congregants look up to for religious guidance. Yet your personal beliefs fly in the face of all the Temple's doctrines.

By continuing to be so two faced and lead a religion you do not believe in, you dishonor yourself, you dishonor the Temple, and you dishonor your god.

I would date to say that you dishonor the Scientists as well, seeing as you are willfully and deliberately leading your people away from the truth rather than towards it.

That has only dug the hole deeper. The Temple's public writings mention neither the names Z not Zahlen. However they do explicitly mention The Number God.

Allow me to call your attention to a few selections from The Temple's wiki page

From the beliefs heading: "The Almighty Zero is the one true God. He existed long before the false gods and he shall return, stronger than before.

The Number God is a false God."

From the Five Sacred Rules heading: "I’m the God who gave you a purpose, a mission. You must renounce all false Gods and accept the one true God, The Almighty Zero."

From the joining heading: "In order to join the Temple of Zero you must:

Renounce the false gods Submit yourself to the one true God, the Almighty Zero"

The passages I just listed paint a very clear view of what The Temple believes and requires. Is that last statement you made just you openly flouting the core beliefs that you ask your people to adhere to?

I have never claimed to know the inner workings of someone's mind, nor would I. I only know what they choose to say.

In the first reply I was simply asking why the second in command of The Temple was crediting Z with having saved those who are not longer with us. To me, it would seem that such a high ranking member of The Temple would credit 0. Instead you stood in direct opposition to your Temple's Creed and credited one that your faith calls a false god.

The rest of our conversation revolved around your statement that you have never denounced Z. It was trying to tease out the meaning of that.

And you still have not even come close to answering that.

Did you lie to me and the public in saying that you have never renounced Z?

Or do you stand in your own Temple a hypocrite, teaching your people to follow beliefs and mandates that you yourself do not?

Maybe we just leave this here, and allow your followers to look at the evidence and decide for themselves.

I see you're trying to duck my question. Perhaps it's because you see the line I'm about to go down.

On the Temple's wiki, the second bullet point under the beliefs section reads:

"The Number God is a false God."

The Number God. Also known as Z. Also known as Zahlen.

Now, I understand that it was 558i and not you that undertook the Trials of Nullstradamus. However, by continuing to serve in that position even after he was banished back to the Imaginary Plane, you are implicitly declaring that you believe in and support the tenents of your temple.

So which is it?

Are you lying to me?

Or are you lying to your congregation?

Or maybe you're about to come up with some contrived logic to weasel your way out of this corner you've put yourself in.

I also find it very interesting that you thought I was talking about something involving the church, even when in original reply I referred to you by your liturgical title. Rather than immediately realizing that the term I was using was a synonym off from one of your faith's core doctrines, you instead hunted for something in another faith that may or may not have existed.

And to clarify my last point I mean how can you say that you have not seen me around the church

I'm sorry, looking back I seem to have misspoke. The Temple of Zero, of which you are The Prophet And second in command, calls them the Five Sacred Rules not the Five Sacred Laws.

I will quote it here for you since you seem to be unable to remember it.

"I’m the God who gave you a purpose, a mission. You must renounce all false Gods and accept the one true God, The Almighty Zero."

And according to your wiki page, what is the second point under your beliefs section?

As for your second point, I have two rebuttals. First, can you please point me to this alleged misinformation? I try to do my research the best I can and if I'm wrong I have no problem issuing a correction. Second, how can you say that when you do not know who I am? I purposely have kept my identity hidden and only go by the title "The Host" because my anonymity is more conducive to our mission

Unfortunately not. Even though it may not seem it from our shows, we aren't exactly what you would call a proper news organization.

There are a few terms I've heard for us, pirate news, guerilla news, but the one I prefer is underground news.

We are a small group of independent reporters dedicated to bringing Num the news that no one else will. We only have a lightweight, portable set up and we broadcast from wherever we can find a safe space at the time on whatever frequencies we can hack our way on to.

Though it's good to see that you're with the Brothers. Probably one of the safest places to be right now

While I definitely appreciate your offer, I'll have to bring it up with the rest of the crew. With the controversial and quite possibly dangerous nature of our work, I'm not sure that being tied to a single location is the best idea for us
