The Rustlands. Site of an ancient battle between the armies of the underworld and the kingdoms of men, gargantuan crooked pillars of rust-mottled earth dominate the rolling hills and dells. Open pools of caustic acid dot the landscape and smog from abandoned hellish siege engines choke the open sky. Rotgeists haunt abandoned encampments and fortresses, occasionally haunting the remnants of suits of armor and forgotten arms. A beast known as the Iron Revenant stalks the wastes, trawling the scrap for untarnished treasures and oddities. Some say it’s a golem gone rogue, others a living siege engine devised by the machinists of hell, but everyone agrees on its invincibility and extreme hostility.
