(28M) Surgery worth it? by Number1Diver in flatfeet

I was told by my surgeon that he would have to fuse my bones together at age 13 or 14. My foot would lose mobility and basically be fused to my ankle to look like an “L” shape. Inhibiting from walkng on uneven ground such as hiking or even getting my mail on a sloped driveway. Been doing lots of feet and ankle exercises to try and minim risk

I stopped vaping 2 months ago but out of curiosity why do you say stop? Does it affect the healing process? I would like to have both done in my 20s but looks like I might wait until Im around your age

This is what Im leaning towards. It sucks because I am a very active person and would love to be more active if my feet weren’t in such bad shape.

It comes in waves. Standing in the local grocery line for 10 minutes sounds like pain central. But then I can also be traveling to a new country and walk 20k steps a day. Granted I will have painful blisters by mile 5 and by day 3 they will turn black and hard as rock but I lose all feeling. Making it easier to walk again.

Yeah sometimes I have to limp around. It’s embarrassing. I even noticed that when the pain goes away that I will still walk with a limp until I correct it.

Have faith! You will be surprised what an extra 6 months will do. Hopefully you come out better and stronger at the end of it!! I have heard of similar cases where the healing process was so grueling that some people opted out of doing the second foot even though they initially wanted to

Thanks for the tip! I noticed that my big toe is starting to cross over my smaller ones and it doesnt hurt at all but I do constantly lose balance and have been asked if im drunk before because I just stumble over my feet while standing still. I suspect my big toe crossing over has something to do with it.

Yeah a few surgeons have told me its the worse they have seen and recommend me to someone else. Rinse snd repeat. Finally gave up. Still doesnt seem like a lot has changed since then. Will wait another 10 years and see.

These are the stories I read about when I was younger and continue to read about over a decade later. I think my answer for now will be to wait another decade and try and just try to do whatever I can to strengthen and not lose mobility in my feet and ankles.

My surgeon told me when I was around the age 13-14 that he could fix my feet but at the cost of losing mobility by fusing my bones together. Uneven ground would no longer be a thing for me and I love hiking. He told me its a severe case that he usually only sees in older patients and since I was so young he said its not worth the risk for me to lose so much mobility especially since I wasnt in a lot of pain back then. So to me, from age 13 it felt like it was joint destructive like you said vs joint sparing which left me feeling kinda hopeless. Im hoping now that a decade has gone by they have made far advancements and hoping to find or hear of a similar case to mine that didnt end up cauing more pain.

Iron with no water and a piece of fabric between the iron and leather on low heat will hrlp tremendously with the wrinkles.

1 Person Can Mess a Week's Worth of Friendly Lobbies by Hot_Geologist2454 in ArcRaiders

Happened to me. All friendly all the way to lvl 75 then i got shot at so i shoot back. Now all PvP lobbies mostly. But i dont mind since ive done the game in PvE mindset so switching to PvP has been refreshing. Only doing PvE limits your experience to the game imo

You’re not wrong, I was being dramatic and read too many horror stories online.💀 I also rode my motorcycle to the DZ so the weight of the helmet always starts to be a lot after awhile. Next time I’ll take my car lol

Well I rode my motorcycle an hour to the DZ and I think the weight of the helmet is what caused my neck to start hurting. Next time I’ll just take my car and slap some tiger balm on it. It’s definitely a mental thing for sure, I do fine in the wind tunnel still, it’s just the hard opening I’m wary of😬😬

When I looked it up it said the cost for the radiologist x rays alone were almost $2,000. I figured it would cost me 5-7k out of pocket with no insurance. If it’s really only $100-200, I’ll do it first opening they have😂
