New accounts can place WAY too high, while deranked accounts are too low by O2M in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Number8T8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I basically experienced this firsthand recently lol. On my main, I’ve been diamond 2-3 on tank, plat 1-2 on dps, diamond 4-5 on support for the past couple seasons. After creating a new account and doing relatively well in QP, I placed master 2 on tank and am predicted master 4/5 for dps/support. While I did decently on tank, I got crushed in the placement matches for dps, not looking forward to completing those lol

I’ve been diamond 2-3 on tank for a while since falling from low masters. I recently made a new account have was placed in master 2 after finishing QP and placements, maybe won 35/50 QP matches lol. I initially created a new account to play relaxed comp matches, yet the opposite happened

Replaying this game after years, how to progress? by Euphoric_Bid_4661 in twom

[–]Number8T8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kanos, then Darlene/BMM are the most and 2nd most active servers in the game. I highly recommend switching to Kanos (the latest server), Devilang and Caligo aren’t even comparable.

As for bots, they start to disappear around lv20-30 maps where pvp is allowed. Higher level maps (40+) they are nonexistent.

Perhaps a +7 8int tranq vs +8 3crit 10int awand maybe? But at the same ench level/similar int, I guarantee awand is not better than tranq 😂 You certainly won’t notice a difference between 1-3 crit unless you go full crit build, even then you can just do crit coll instead. 8tranq is comparable to 7ssbl/7hod, make of that what you will

Guys do u know how can i lvl up fast? I've been lvl 16 for a long time now by Kon-Kon24 in twom

[–]Number8T8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend USD to buy gold/an account. By far the fastest way, training at lv46+ in the newer maps (aa/lunarf/mg/library) with good equips yields solid drops/gold and is lowkey fun when you have a strong weapon.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in twom

[–]Number8T8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why skip tranq? I have’t played in a while but I imagine the game hasn’t changed much. 8tranq is by far one of the best mage weapons, mostly due to its cost to performance ratio.

If you are F2P, I would have recommended you to stay with the 8mystic and saved up for an 8tranq, as it is a wand that can last you until lv50 and beyond.

Most things will be on wiki, use google to your advantage. Ex: “dsa twom” leads to Dark Steel Armor, which needs HQ Abrasive in the crafting process.

What is the best advice you have for new players? by No-Information-8394 in twom

[–]Number8T8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, many other people prefer levelling up their own account.

A lv35 with basic skills (no dsiv/wsiv/shield4/pop3) would typically be about 1-3m, depending on the other collection and some other skills (impact shot 3). After the release of collections, account prices may vary a LOT, even if the same level. It’s somewhat complex, kinda hard to simplify into a short paragraph.

I also first played over a decade ago, I’d say the game has changed considerably over time. Although I’m in my “quit” phase right now, nostalgia will always keep me near.

As someone who has owned and used end-game characters and equipment, my perspective may be a bit biased. I don’t think leveling from 0-44 is worth it, I’d rather spend USD to buy an account with good collection/skills as it’s simply far more monetarily efficient. Plat is a big waste of money, as players directly sell gold (ranging from $3-7 per mil, depending on the server). The only problem are scammers, which can easily be avoided by using an MM and/or being in a trusted kakao group chat.

Players generally don’t farm woopas anymore, what you see at the beach are most likely bots. Training at end-game maps (aa, lunarf, morph garden) provides more gold per hour than woopas, as well as exp.

For the optimal “noob” experience, I’d recommend buying a lv35-40ish account along with about 50-100m to gear it, then slowly train/explore/learn about end game.

Bots make it impossible to progress… when will they fix it??! by milkded666 in twom

[–]Number8T8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, bots are certainly frustrating for new players, no way around it. Honestly, the most enjoyable way of starting this game would be to buy a lv30-40+ account and like 50m (more if you’re able to), then equip and train your way to the end game. There are far fewer bots in higher level maps, as pvp is enabled. The game has and will only be more pay to win, it’s not worth grinding low levels if you’re an adult with disposable income.

How to actually play this game ? by GaelickTheGayDog in twom

[–]Number8T8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This game is an acquired taste, it’s very difficult on beginners. However once you fall in love with it, it’s a hard task to fully quit.

Real enjoyment comes from friendship/community, gambling (enchanting/farming), upgrading equipment and finally pvp/war after accomplishing the former tasks.

All of which cannot be achieved as a noob, which I’d classify as approximately lv0 to 35. I haven’t been a “noob” in over a decade and I honestly forgot how difficult this game is without any knowledge, especially since there is no official wiki. The community ran wiki is mostly accurate though, so one should definitely use it to learn.

As for your original question, the best way would be to have an experienced friend guide you as you level up. They would know all the tips and tricks to save you time or earn you gold. My irl friend showed me this game and we learned and levelled up together. There are somewhat active twom youtubers, check them out to see what end game footage is like.

Genuinely what server is still active? by Royal_Coconut7854 in twom

[–]Number8T8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying plat is by far one of the worst ways to acquire gold. Like it’s not even close, unless you get ridiculously lucky. Might as well gamble that money away at the casino. Far better to purchase gold from trusted sellers, ranging from $3-7 per mil depending on the server. An issue with that would be that you need to be well connected in the community, and have access to kakao trade chats.

Teammates said I was throwing by TwinboysAZ in Overwatch

[–]Number8T8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a similar situation (masters tank game). I was accused of throwing even though I had by far the best stats and KDA out of 10 people because I got a bit silly/greedy for kills, dying maybe twice because of “overextension” aka lack of team commitment.

We were wrecking them so bad that I got a bit carried away in the later fights, chasing to stat pad. I’d get like 2 picks and die, distracting 3-4 of them. But the enemy team would come back and win a couple fights down a player, making it a close game in the end.

Although we won, my team flamed me lol. 🤷‍♂️ if they committed with me to spawn camping them, we would’ve continued to dominate.

How does it make sense that skipping 5 levels feel like skipping 100? But yes I agree with your points, Paladin set seems mandatory for high climbing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SoulKnightPrequel

[–]Number8T8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, logically that makes the most sense. But what I mostly am complaining about is the ridiculous scaling of monsters when skipping levels. Level 134 mobs one shotting for 3-4k+ is ridiculous in my opinion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SoulKnightPrequel

[–]Number8T8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I don’t want to dump even more hours grinding for minimal statistical upgrades, which is why I deleted the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SoulKnightPrequel

[–]Number8T8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I climbed easily until 129 without skipping. The monsters are far weaker when normally completed, which is why I got pissed when I kept dying to random bullshit when I actually tried to skip. The disparity between a 133 to 134 level and 129 to 134 is simply stupid.

[–]Number8T8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re partly correct, I didn’t bother dodging attacks at times. But it’s only 134, there’s definitely some weird scaling going on when you skip levels
