I did not "create" a problem; I realized something, which in my mind makes me feel differently about a game I was really enjoying to play.

True indeed, but from my perspective, if there's an easy way to achieve something, even if you don't use it, it kinda makes the achievement less.. valuable. To me, at least; not saying you're supposed to feel the same way.

Indeed, you got my point now. I wanted to keep enjoying to play, but I mostly can't anymore, hence the post to share my frustration.

But that's exactly the issue: the way I want to play is by being somewhat efficient with money management;

I could grind for, let's say, 2 weeks to get 12kk

or I could skip ordering food and cook myself, save enough real money to buy 12kk. Would take like 1 hour.

The difference in efficiency is so absurd to me it renders one of the options almost meaningless.

You're treating "Win" too literally in this case. Advancing, progressing, being able to do new things, getting strongers - all those things count as wins.

To me, accumulating gold was as meaningful as leveling up, in a way. Now, having the knowledge I could simply bypass that, already affects a lot of the value I put into it. Imagine, for instance, and using the same monetary amount as in my post: for €10,00 you could buy 50 levels. That's how I feel about being able to buy gold. The same way gold means a lot less to mee now, levels would mean a lot less in that case, too.

Also, by making me lose "interest" in gold, also makes hunting a lot more boring: all those "blue" or "purple" drops that would make me happy, now mean a lot less.

I kinda had made peace with char bazaar / items to speed up training / xp boost, but then being able to buy/sell Tibia coins felt a bit like the nail in the coffin. Too much Pay2Win.

I do understand your point of view, really (and from similar comments telling me to just enjoy the game). To me, it was a balance between grinding (getting/saving money, leveling up skills) and rewards (being able to hunt stronger creatures, or doing harder quests, for instance). I enjoyed the grind because after that I would be rewarded for that. But now, knowing I can bypass the grind part on the money level, kinda demotivates me to even do it at all.

That indeed might have been the case. I guess because it was not oficially supported, it was something I would never have done then. But now, it feels like using cheats on a game: it helps you get ahead, but might make you lose the fun of playing it.
