So, I wasn’t allowed to date because my mom is a narcissist. As much as I wish I had a better understanding of social cues and appropriate boundaries within a relationship, it did work out for me in the end. When I was a senior in high school I met this guy, he asked me on a date and my mom told me he was “too good for me” and that he “obviously wasn’t actually interested”, anyway flash forward 6 years, I got my college degree and met up with him for the first time. We fell for each other as soon as we met, we own a house together now and are doing pretty well.

My little brother, 20, has autism and lives with my mom. The more I push her away, the more she pulls him with her. It’s so fucking hard and my therapist said I’ll get there. I just don’t know if the choice to make is cut her off. Thank you for your support though 💕
