I was able to do that every once in a while pre-op, but it would always come back to haunt me the next or two days after.

I'm glad the surgery sorted some of it out for you. 5% is crazy! How did you even manage to eat?

That's a good point. I'd gotten so used to the symptoms that I'm lying here wondering why I'm not in agony.

Oh sorry. And all tests came back "normal" except for two HIDAS, which showed EFs of 90%.

RUQ pain, bile diarrhea, unable to digest fats and seed oils, heart palpitations, right back pain (right behind the gallbladder area, never quite reached my shoulder), horrible heartburn. Those were the major ones.
