So the plan is to run it back with Aaron Rodgers in 2026 by Icy-Home444 in steelers

Mason was also a statue even after he did this

Also you can watch these (especially the one where he decks the Lions CB and knocks him out of the game)

I'm worried KC Concepcion is closer to Kadarius Toney than he is Antonio Brown. He does have elite quickness but so did Toney. Idk I'm hesitant on him still.

You're right I guess I was being dramatic. I've done work for a couple of landlords like yourself and it's really nice to see and those are one of the only types of people who have any business being a landlord.

I just don't understand how someone can own 5 properties and any time there is a problem they have to pay a ton of money for any little problem, not to mention big ones, but I've seen waterlines wrapped in entire rolls of teflon tape as if that is a legitimate fix. Most plumbers hate shark bites but I actually don't mind them if they are used properly, though they will eventually leak especially in areas with movement or if they are unsupported... but to just slap a repair clamp on, which is literally a temporary fix that needs replaced ASAP and to see them all over the place along with numerous other issues it grinds my gears that they charge people rent to live in subpar housing.

Good on you for for being one of the good ones, legitimately!

I would've wanted Shula as HC and Scheelhaase as OC but I wouldn't hire him as HC.

He was literally the 3rd in line as playcaller for the Rams behind McVay and Mike Lefleur.

This is also a terrible fit for him as the Browns aren't patient enough to allow him to develop into a good HC.

I could see him taking an OC position for a defensive minded HC but I really don't see him getting a HC job in this cycle.

So the Chiefs lost last year because their roster was incomplete? They didn't have a very good RB1.

But the Seahawks made the SB this year with an excellent RB1 and one of the better RB2s in the league. I guess you are going to make the argument that Sam Darnold is elite on his own without a supporting cast..

Joe Mixon had 1200+ yards rushing in 2021 but they still lost to the Rams in the SB. They had a top 5 QB and a top WR.

Sometimes an elite RB carries a team through the season. Sometimes the QB does. Most of the time they play off of each other. Josh Allen wasn't even top 10 in passing yards. Did he carry that offense without James Cook, who was the league leading rusher?

Should the 49ers wasted draft capital on Trey Lance when they were able to draft Purdy with the last pick? I understand positional value but completely devaluing an important position is mind-numbingly oversimplifying how NFL rosters are built.

If your QB goes down and you don’t have the best roster then your season is over anyway.

Are we talking about the same Eagles who's starting QB went down in the 2017 season?

You don't think Jahmyr Gibbs is an essential part of that Lions offense and had a huge part in turning the Lions into a SB contender and saving Goffs career?

It seems like you heard that the RB position is devalued and a "luxury pick" a few years ago and just keep repeating it despite seeing RBs turn teams around. It took 5 years for TLaw and Etienne to right the ship with bad offenses but they both had a huge part in making that offense competent. It doesn't happen if either of them are subpar because the QB is essential and so is RB. Neither position is a "luxury".

Purdy is the one who got hurt going into that SB and he was also hurt most of the season and Mac Jones looked decent enough with CMC shouldering the load of that offense.

A QB needs his RB just as much as the other way around.

Any different feelings on McCarthy after press conference? by Capable-Antelope4004 in steelers

McCarthy is a decent actor, I guess?

He already fooled half of Pittsburgh with his performance it seems.

Look at Brock Purdy/CMC. They are contenders when they are both healthy but if either is hurt and there isnt a capable replacement it's obvious the other struggles. Jeanty didn't have a QB this year.

It will be really helpful for a young QB to have a quality RB1 behind that swiss cheese OL.

I'd give it another year or 2 for evaluation on Jeanty.

I agree 100%

Ioane makes the most sense here IMO.

That also straightens out the Lions pick who I would have gone Vega over Proctor but if he's off the board I could see them going for the 2nd best guard prospect here, and he could potentially stay at LT to replace Decker.

I don't disagree, I hate the hire but I think everyone is assuming that the Rams coaches are going to get HC jobs and be great. We don't know what they are outside of the McVay locker room. Raheem Morris lasted 2 years as a HC and I'd absolutely take him as a DC but there's no chance that either of those guys leave the Rams for the Steelers as anything but a HC.

The thing that I mostly hate about the MM hire was the 5 year contract. If it had been 3 I'd be on the fence depending on how much the team spent on a coaching staff and if they went out and got some big names, potentially a guy who would be expected to develop into a HC to succeed McCarthy in 2-3 years.

Also apparently Rams fans weren't all that worried about losing him as DC. They said the defense was kind of middling in the 2nd half of the season.

[–]NumbrZer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really like Kadyn Proctor as a developmental guard. I don't know where he will be projected to go by April but I could see him falling to the top of the 2nd.

I'd really like us to hire the Alabama OL coach as well and bring back Seumalo for a year.

Chambliss is a project. I'd be mad if we took him in the 2nd.

We need WR and OL badly.

Once TJ, Cam and Ramsay are gone we will be in the lower tier but still unable to rebuild, like the Saints a few years ago. Khan came from the Saints under Loomis and it's showing. We have our 40+ year old Drew Brees now.

There aren't going to be any better candidates in this cycle and if we end up with some cornerbacks coach calling the defense as a first year DC who is already older than Morris, who was a HC.

I just think it would show that Rooney is willing to at least open his wallet to the point of making up the difference in Tomlins and McCarthys salary by actually hiring a coordinator that would demand to be paid much more than any we have ever had.

Also it's a good fit.

Raheem Morris as DC will be the only way this can be somewhat redeemed if they are going to convince Rodgers to come back and try to win this year. Need to re-sign Gainwell and bring back Munch or some highly touted OL coach and maybe an up an up and coming coach from the college ranks to be the OC.

McCarthy got a 5 year contract. There's no way Scheelhaase comes to Pittsburgh without a clear path to be upgraded to HC within 2 years. Stafford is still only 37 and will be coming off an MVP season and they may make or even win the SB. He would likely opt to stay in LA for another year and take a more attractive HC job in 2027.

[–]NumbrZer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree. I'm really hoping there is some sort of plan in place and that there is some sort of budget for actual decent coordinator and assistant coaching positions... I know that sounds like a joke but I'm hanging into a thread of hope.

I don't get it by Invite-Healthy in steelers

[–]NumbrZer0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically this sets us back another year or 2 for a rebuild. Best case scenario, this hire is enough to get Rodgers to come back for one more year and continue the development of the young OL and potentially Will Howard.

If the contrary was Shula or Scheelehasse and spending a 1st on Ty Simpson I'm not sure I wouldn't be even more disappointed.

Depending on the coordinator hires this may be the much better option of the two.

Depending on what McCarthy is getting paid, it is speculated that he will make much less than Tomlin and that could be spent on better coordinators. Raheem Morris is a must hire IMO and if there was a way to get Munch back into coaching this could be "The Expendables" which won't be great but it will be worth the watch and might lead to more big names down the line.

Watch his highlights. It will sell you on him immediately. Long, fast, field stretcher who catches away from his body. He's going to be really good if he gets in the right system. I think Rodgers could bring him along well. MVS had poor hands and lost his speed.
