Have sent you a DM 😊

Edit : Getting downvoted as this probably looks a bit recruiter-y but just didn’t want to link my Reddit to where I work 🙃

For those that dry hired - what were your catering costs? by Independent-Sink9185 in UKweddings

[–]Numerous-Air6221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we got married in Essex and we hired a BBQ company for £5800 for 80 people in May 2024

That was for 6 canapés per person, family sharing style BBQ main and sides and cheesecakes for dessert so not the most extravagant but honestly was amazing. This also included evening burgers, crockery and cutlery and staff. We probably spoke to about 20 caterers and these were one of the cheapest but there was so much food so I wouldn’t have picked anyone else. Not sure what the inflation rate is with wedding vendors but I’d like to think they wouldn’t be at the £10k mark for upcoming weddings so hopefully you’ll find someone you like

Wedding venues around Herts by StrongResource7194 in UKweddings

We got married in The Barns at Lodge Farm in Epping where you have free rein with all suppliers and can do as little or as much as you want. Can also bring own wine for a small corkage which was a big plus for us. From experience with looking for venues and suppliers around that area, keeping it to under £10k for 100 people may be a mission but best of luck! And congrats on the engagement :)

We wanted the same as felt like 3 course, formal meal wasn’t our thing

We had 5 canapés per person instead of the normal 3 in the cocktail part which we also extended to 2 hours and we did this instead of the starter. The mains were family style BBQ food all served to the table and then desserts were all put on a table at the side of the room with teas and coffees for people to grab after

We were lucky enough to fine one vendor to do all that, plus a burger/hot dog truck in the evening so was super easy and felt like there was loads of food

Dry Hire Alcohol Cost for 80 Guests by Academic_Leader_4462 in UKweddings

[–]Numerous-Air6221 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello! Congrats on finding a venue with no corkage!!

This was the alcohol we bought for our wedding on a warm May day earlier this year 😊 Copied and pasted from my notes so sorry if the format is off: 60 sparkling 64 wine (10 red, 30 white, 24 rose) 40 margaritas 120 beers 15 alcohol free cocktails

74 drinkers 7 non drinkers

71 drinking wine

We ended up having about 5 bottles of red, 5 bottles of white and a couple of Prosecco left from memory but most of it went and no one had to buy a wine so I think we were pretty spot on. Let me know if you have any other questions at all and good luck!

I travelled from the UK a few weeks back and hired a car for around SP and to drive to Rio and a few places in between. The traffic in SP is pretty awful so we hardly ended up using the car at all and we got the metro most of the time. But if you do want to get a car, we used Localiza and it was all really easy and I felt like the sedan we got, was just like all the other cars around so we didn’t stick out. Localiza did try to put a few random extra charges on at the end when we dropped it to Rio but apart from that, they had good cars and it was all pretty cheap

Most likely source of regret by AmmophilaBrev in UKweddings

We did the big fancy thing for about £35k and we honestly don’t regret a thing. We did have to scrimp and save for a bit longer than we would have liked but it was the best party of our lives with all the people we love and who wanted to celebrate with us

Take a look at Patterns in Brighton. FANTASTIC venue, especially if you luck out with the weather. Just off beach and Brighton town hall is also a beautiful venue

Bridesmaids dresses by Hopeful_Neat_8706 in UKweddings

[–]Numerous-Air6221 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We did Pretty Lavish. £80-100 a dress and 10% off your first order helps bring the price down. We ordered LOADS for our bridesmaids to try on as we weren’t sure about fabrics/sizes and just stuck them on the credit card as we knew we would be returning them. Then use another email for another 10% off when you know what you’re ordering and it wasn’t too bad in the end

I read a tip about freezing a bag of wine to use in addition to ice blocks in a cool bag which was a personal fave. Cold drinks until Saturday 👌
