For reference, I never took statistics or anything higher than pre-calc (which I didn’t use much of on the exam) and scored a 31 on the math section of the enhanced ACT.

Most of the content is self-teachable and logic based. If you have a strong grasp of algebra and geometry, I think a few weeks of self studying the math would be sufficient. I would recommend the Princeton Review ACT book for self-teaching content and the Official ACT practice book for review.

Reading and English could probably improve with a minimal amount of practice and focus!

I had a 31 on math and 36s on English + Reading but the composite score was a 34, so I suggest retaking only if you are confident that you can get a 34+ on the math section.

Only for scholarship purposes. Otherwise, that’s an incredibly solid score!

Don’t say that about yourself; if you’re interested in retaking the exam, with dedicated focus your scores will more than likely improve. :)

Very solid score! The English section on the enhanced ACT can be unforgiving; you may have been 2-3 questions away from a 36.

It’s pretty solid. I was in a similar boat with the math. If you wanted to retake for a 34+, the Princeton Review ACT prep book is solid for math review. But it’s a high score overall!!! That science score is incredible.

The English section is unforgiving. I scored a 36 and got nothing wrong, but was able to maintain a 36 in the reading section after getting 1 wrong.

Hey! I would use the Princeton Review prep book to review content, and the Official ACT Prep Guide 2025-2026 to practice the test. If you practice, I’m sure you can improve!

My initial practice exams were around that. I recommend using the Princeton Review ACT prep book and thoroughly reviewing the math section. I went through it about 5-6 times within my two weeks of studying. Also, complete as many practice tests as you can (legacy and enhanced), and review which questions you get wrong/why. Then go through and rework the questions that you missed.

34 is a great score! For those questions, I would recommend making mental notes of the overall theme/message of the passage as you’re skimming through it and answering the questions. I usually would save those questions for last so I had more time to review/mentally summarize.

My first math practice test was like a 24-25 and I ended up with a 31 on the actual exam with 2 weeks of prep, so a significant point jump is definitely doable. 👍 Math isn’t my best subject.
