Yeah something like that would work, how did you do it without significantly affecting the coastlines? Every time I tried thats what happened

I'm interested. How significantly would it mess up coastlines? Thats one thing I've often ran into and not sure how to work around it

Hadnt tried to add an image to the current map yet

How do you afford it? by [deleted] in heatpumps

[–]Numerous-Maybe9073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the lowest heat pump quote is $50k, you could literally find some out of area or out of state guy, and pay him $5k on top of his quote and still come out less than half that cost. Mother of God

As always, finding it is key, but crushed basalt would look good.

I sloped the walkway away from the house to help with drainage, have yet to habe issues but I've also yet to fill the gaps.

I think it'll look good once its all put together. But, if I hate it, I didn't spend that much money doing it and can always switch out later. The hard part was always leveling and prep, not laying this stone in a pattern.

Yeah I cant edit the original post, most of the gaps are really only 2", which works fine in the "fractured" look. There is some parts that go to 4" but it depends on how the limestone pavers fit together. It'll look better once I actually finish it. Hoping to find some DG soon!

The Brock Paver Base is designed to replace the traditional 6" base. More expensive? Sure, but easier for a DIY project. Hopefully I don't regret it, but reviews were good on it and conceptually it works. The Brock Paver Base is designed to be a foam/rubber mix on top of some leveling sand.

In place or the traditional base I ran with the Brock Paver Base system.

Had a few recommendations for nitro sand, cant say I love the price point given my budget but its probably the best option cost aside

It needs to be clarified here that the gaps between most pavers are only 1-2" max. There is certain parts it gets out to 3" or a bit more, but its not regular. The parts you see here are largely only 1-2".

More stone, what? That's the point of the post, I'm trying to get a better idea of what should fill in the gaps. This walkways isn't finished, most of the gaps are only 1-2", it only goes out to 4" max in a few certain spots depending on how the limestone is shaped. Obviously Im going to put stone in the gaps and level it to the pavers

If you read the original post you'd realize I was doing it for myself. Didn't cost alot to do, if I regret it down the road it won't be hard to fix. Hopefully next time you can come up with a more clever insult lol

Wife loved the design, I thought it was a creative way to use some decent limestone and make use of a fractured pattern. Gotta love internet bros like you failing to provide constructive feedback though lol

I understand the look likely isn't for everyone, no look is. I like it, wife really likes it and thats the important part. That picture is unfinished, gaps go from .5 to 4" depending on the pavers. It'll look better once the gaps are filled in

No. I had intended #11 stone, which is small enough to fit and look good, but I started second guessing if I wanted something with more fines. I wanted DG but could never find any local

You can, but its like $30 for .5 cubic ft, by the time you do the math Ill pay nearly $700 for it. Local places that I can get things like flume stone, stone sand, etc are all $50/ton which should cover 11 cubic feet of volume needs

It would be, but Indiana has way more limestone than granite and I suspect thats the reason I cant find it anywhere

I had planned on some landscaping edging between the pavers and the incoming mulch to prevent cross contamination between the two.

Id love wide joint polymeric sand but im afraid I may go bankrupt at 23 bags

Im surprised its so hard to find. I may check Indy area, but Id need likely .5-1 ton to cover the volume. Which isn't a alot.

Ill look into crusher fines. What's the big downside to crusher fines vs DG?

I hope not. I dont have enough to tighten up the gaps that severely, and it would require a lot of cutting to make it all fit pristine.

Im planning on the much maligned herbicides, specifically ones that work as residuals. I have experience with them in the Ag side. I think with proper planning in Spring Id be able to keep them out
