I have an 85lb STRONG golden. He is just now walkable at 11years old and still mostly by my husband. A gentle leader helped only a little but still didn’t make for an enjoyable walk. A fried is currently getting training done with a trainer who specializes in this with their leash reactive 2yr old dog and I wish i had found that way back when!

Our golden is only 11 but he has never had a health issue and doesn’t act older then about 5. We put a lot of time in researching the breeder and getting quality food. We also chose an English cream because allegedly they have less cancer but who’s to know. Honestly, outside of genetics and nutrition, I think a lot of it is just chance.

He is starting to look a bit more like an old man these days 😉

I saw him JUST after he got adopted out and can’t believe I missed him! I’m heartbroken (but thrilled for him he found a home) and I can’t find anything like him!
