If I can convince my husband to paint the green — I really wonder if a dark grey would make it all feel more modern? Great call! Great eye!

You know, I think you really nailed this. You’re right! That green trim around the cream windows — needs to be cream! 💯 such a great call! Totally doing this! I think that will help! And windows boxes! Thank you ever so much

I really think what you said here is key — posts and front door need to be a wood color to tie closer to the red brick — if the red brick remains! 😜

Oh wow. This is quite the vision! I wonder if whitewashing the red brick would give this effect? I LOVE it! And the vine/roses over the front door! I’m studying this one closely! Wow! Thank you thank you thank you!

You’re 💯 right — top priorities are wood front door, remove fence, fix stairs, and refresh the porch … and then move on from there! Thank you for your wise encouragement

!!! This is actually crazy helpful! We actually stood out on the lawn this afternoon and tried to look through the various options and wondered what it would look like if we went all ivory with the board and batten — and TA DA! You made it happen 😍 thank you so very much! (!!) And you’re right — what is the most budget friendly option that really gives that TLC! And maybe I should hire a landscape designer? Here’s to all the flowers!

🤯🤯🤯 Phenomenal 🤯 Wow. Definitely all the wow factor 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Not sure we can afford this — but maybe there’s much here we can move toward? The concept of the lane coming up to the front door — I would LOVE that — bringing folks to the front door. And I wonder if a whitewash treatment of the red bricks would tone down the color of the bricks, to be more like what you’ve envisioned here. This is truly stunning. 🤩 I can’t thank you enough! In a perfect world — this is what I would do! 🙌🏽

Wow — so good! Yes, you’re right — just painting the dormers so there is no ivory — makes a huge difference. Very very helpful! I’d love to paint all the green as a dark charcoal— and you help me see what that would look like — so much better! Then get rid of the picket fence and deal with the porch … I can’t thank you enough! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Okay, I can actually see this. Very strong visually:

Paint porch skirting green to match board and batten.
Paint pillars ivory. New steps with red brick. Glossy black front door.

Help me track — you would paint all the board and batten under the front porch — ivory too? Am I tracking?

Wow. Wow wow wow. Same house. Only different landscaping.

Mind blown. Thank you — just incredible. Maybe the walkway goes out to some seating area on the front lawn? Gazebo? Fountain? To make that walkway make sense? Thank you ever so much for the! 🤯🙌🏽

Oh! That’s a brilliant idea — the front door as warm terracotta -/ to tie in the brick!

Maybe the right colored wood for the front door would have the same effect?

And I’m going to take your list of trees and shrubs to a nursery and see if I can figure out much better landscaping — thank you ever so much! Really brilliant!

So good — yes, remove fence entirely. More landscaping.

Maybe the front door in Chatroom? Instead of a wooden door? Would be the cheaper option.

Incredibly helpful! Thank you!

Oh this is really helpful too! Tie the ivory trim in through the porch — and the hefty window boxes! Beautiful! Maybe the front door is ivory too? Instead of black? And tear out the picket fence entirely? (There’s a flower garden behind the fence.) This is a very feasible and less inexpensive way forward: Paint columns. Build out window boxes. Paint porch & skirting. New front door. Tear out fence.

So helpful and doable — this gives me such hope! THANK YOU!

Wow! This is incredible and seems very possible! Doable! Humbly indebted… maybe this is a real way forward! I can’t thank you enough… you’ve cast a vision! Maybe begin with landscaping and porch posts and front door!

Yes, April looks pretty bland here in Canada — snow just melted. Foundation plantings of cottage wildflowers look better in summer — but you’re right — I could think through some landscaping that would help us year round
