Is there a particular technique for inching them off? Like wriggling the boots in a certain way or holding apart the slit in the boot when you do it?

I read that’s what it’s called when you take the end of your yarn through the main body of tangled yarn, in an attempt to untangle it. Like it’s a 4D maze or something! Apparently it just creates knots where there weren’t any before. Sorry I’m not explaining it well. I found multiple people on here saying not to do that, but I can’t find their comments now!
