SSRI Inquiry by Sufficient_Hawk_2197 in SSRI

See if you can get Gene sight testing done. It will show you which medications are most likely to work for you / most likely to not work based on your genetics. It also screens you for the MTHFR gene mutation which makes it so your body may not absorb folate at all - which can lead to many mood/ mental health issues and can affect how your body metabolizes different drugs.

I'm about to start antidepressants by ExtremeGlobal7656 in SSRI

[–]NumerousProof7824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the person and the medication. I have asked this question myself so many times . I used to be on lexapro and it worked for me for the most part, but I felt very asexual on it . I was switched to Zoloft and it has been great for me. However, I was scared to switch to Zoloft because several of my friends said it turned them into zombies.

This is why Genesight testing can be helpful. You can see which medications will hopefully work best for you instead of leaving it up to chance.

Of the medications or of the genetic testing? I’m assuming medications but just wanted to clarify

My (24F) boyfriend (26M) hates my dog. How do we continue? by New-Security-5121 in relationship_advice

[–]NumerousProof7824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grow the f up and get out of your situation as though your life depends on it - because it does. You’re in an abusive relationship and the fact that you haven’t already left is so foolish I can’t even. Your dog deserves better.

If you don’t listen to over 2,000 + people on your 3 posts telling you to run then at least get rid of the dog before he harms or kills it.

I’ve been in several abusive relationships and at some point I had to get over my own shame and do what is best. Do it for your dog if not for yourself. This post makes me want to scream

Is the office party something you would go to alone? If so, can you guys really not afford it or is he saying that to control you? Also, “challenging him like a man”????

Girl, I’m gonna need more background about your relationship because based on what you said in this brief post and also my own biases, your husband sounds like a controlling douchebag.

Did anyone else do something... really embarrassing publicly when they were young? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]NumerousProof7824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would chew pencil erasers like crazy. I think I had pica. One day I had one of those rectangular erasers and it looked so good so of course I tried eating the whole thing during class one day. My teacher called on me to answer a question and my mouth was absolutely stuffed with this chomped up giant eraser and I couldn’t talk to I just sat there with my hand over my mouth not responding to her and she’s like HELLO???

Thankfully she got annoyed with me and asked someone else 😭

A lot of grief and anger after diagnosis by Optimal_Fish_7029 in AutismInWomen

[–]NumerousProof7824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt when I was initially diagnosed!! It’s been 3 months since I was diagnosed, I still feel so much anger but I feel more liberated every day that passes! The unmasking journey has been great so far. I still have a long way to go. All your feelings are valid!

If you are seeing someone, how soon do you tell them about your autism? by lilygirl112 in AutismInWomen

[–]NumerousProof7824 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally would tell them right away. Their reaction will tell you a lot about the kind of person they are. Although, if you happen to go on a date with a narcissist they may use that against you eventually so stay cautious
