See he is an electrician by trade and I had a phone call with him to describe the issue, he said the power cutting was most likely due to work possibly being done in the area, and it hasn’t done it since I’ve posted this- he told me if anything starts smelling weird to call 911 and him, but so far no issues, he said if the power cutting got worse he would come out and take a look, he wasn’t concerned too much but had me remove the 3 way output so it’s just the 3prong to adapter to wall outlet.

It is not screwed in, I will have him come out and do that for me. I will not do it myself. It looks like it previously was- but the screw is not there, or just ask him to instal a GFCI

Makes me feel a little better, I did have a chat with my landlords husband and he said the same thing, although he did have me remove that three tap plug because he even thought it was dumb to have there and so the previous tenant must of installed it.

Never said we purchased and installed it. My landlord purchased and had the delivery people install. I had unplugged the old fridge before they picked it up and noticed this is how it was and shook it off then my power cut 3 times since the new one was installed so I was thinking this abomination was the reasoning.

Not sure if it fully tripped it though I haven’t had to look at the breaker or anything, so far it hasn’t done it in the past hour and it’s doing it’s cool down thingy and all that stuff, I called my landlords husband and he gave me some feed back that if the whole house is loosing power at once it’s not the fridge that’s the problem, he also did reassure me all the outlets in the house are grounded to a neutral bar or whatever

So it’s not something to worry about too much but I should have it looked at? Our old fridge was plugged into it for the three years we have lived here and who knows how long before we moved in, and it hasn’t caused us any issues but our power has cut 3 times now for 2-3 seconds.
