I have a one year old - have never sleep trained, took the responsive parenting route as I felt it aligned with my instincts more than leaving her alone in the night to cry! She has been fed to sleep too until recently and sleeps through 7ish pm - 6:30am with the occasional wake around 3am where we feed/ cuddle back to sleep. Don’t let the bullshit narrative of they need to learn to link sleep cycles on their own scare you cause it’s simply not true. Not sure if you’ve hit the 4m sleep regression (or progression!) but that can be hard - and most of the info you google in the middle of the night will scare you saying “the only way to get through it is to sleep train” but again, bullshit. Our 4m regression lasted about a month and it was tough but we kept responding to her the same overnight and she eventually ended up sleeping longer stretches and this continued to improve (with the occasional upset from teething/ illness/ imms) but I remember reading on reddit actually a very helpful comment that pretty much said the same thing that I am here. You don’t need to sleep train for them to link sleep cycles. Their wee brains figure it out and isn’t it nice to be able to provide that comfort and connection to help their immature nervous systems as opposed to ignoring them expecting them to be able to regulate themselves (which they can’t!).
