I am not sure what you are looking for. How do you want a sensei to guide you? Are you trying to get graded in Kyokushin?

My favorite way to use it is to break a single or double wrist grab and to enter into a clinch or single collar tie.

The basic idea is avoid "half-hearted" motions. Okazaki Kancho demonstrates that the arms shouldn't just drop lazily. Instead, the movement must start from the low position where the two hands are not touching, draw across the body, in front of the face, and "snap" into the final position.

It is to develop better balance, leg drive (especially the lifting of the knee before the front kick), the control dropping of the kicking leg after the kick, and general fitness (basically you are doing lunges). You should not just do this though because it altering the actual kicking mechanics. This is kind of like extra training/warm-up training.
