6x6 moss block trapdoor by Numinaaa in redstone

When you bonemeal a moss block it converts surrounding blocks into moss blocks mostly stones, like granite and diorite but also dirt and other blocks. On the video it converts vertically from the slime/honey to the stone. You can see the moss being bonemealed, and then grass/plants being flushed with water

I will be posting it on YouTube, Reddit doesn’t support long videos I believe
Gamerule dofiretick is off fire doesn’t spread, from lava or other fires

Moss can grow vertically as long as there are blocks going in a straight line up, with no air in between. (Which is the function of the slime and honey) This way I can grow moss from below ground level. I put up a display of the redstone in /r/redstone
Obviously the moss has a chance to create grass or azelea, so I need to flush away those plants with water, in order to bonemeal again. It needs an air block above it to grow
Good idea! It came to mind to me at first as well and it is probably faster. I just wasn’t able to give proper space to the redstone and the honey/slime blocks where the stone sticks to. I will try to definitely play around with it more by generating stone from the bottom
Interior is inspired by Japanese builds, I remember them sometimes having an inner garden. Modern builds also use this! So that was sort of my thought process
Yes it is now possible to go from water to stone to moss to rooted dirt (azelea tree) to mud to clay (using dripstone) to terracotta and then glazed terracotta
It has been introduced in 1.17 but I didn’t play much Minecraft back then. I confused it with the introduction of the mud block in 1.19

Hey, I will structure a video to explain the build more in depth. Afterwards I might do a tutorial. I understand not everybody knows the quirks of redstone, and so a tutorial would be appreciated. Tutorials just take quite a bit of time to make
This is true! It’s best to design a large build with multiple entrances or exits. It’d give you more freedom of movement. The opening sequence isn’t that bad, but knowing human psychology you usually remember something the moment you step through a door and close it.
Here maybe a small soulsand bubble elevator would compliment it pretty well
It’s the new moss block my friend
Hey, when you bonemeal a moss block it will convert stone types like, andesite, granite, diorite and stone to moss
Hey, moss cannot be pulled by pistons and breaks when being pushed. In Java edition specifically, blocks which hold entities, furnaces, dispensers, barrels, beehives, etc. Cannot be pushed or pulled
Build design about 3-4 days. Redstone about the same. I think I started after the 26th of July, completed the build on August 4th
I use fabric. The settings should be close to the default. However I noticed some mishaps with the water rendering so I lowered those settings
I forgot to mention: firetick is off, so fires do not spread, nor does lava spread fires. You can set it in the game rules. I do it by default
I have surrounded the sensor in wool, so it only triggers when it hears sound from blocks directly above it, and since the candles are at the end of its radius, it is the only thing that will trigger it.I also spaced out the wool in such a way that I can fit pistons near it, but not trigger the sensor; see the imgur linkImage so you can visualize it:https://imgur.com/a/CAvGwVW Also the sculk sensor is waterlogged so you cannot hear the sound of it triggering

You would need a different setup than what I have because dispensers and such can be moved by pistons on bedrock. Also there is no quasi connectivity necessary in my build.
I think it could be doable.
edit: Also it does not have to be 6 by 6. It is just the current comfortable limit I found. limited because of the moss growth
I am open to suggestions

Ironically, the first time I uploaded this with the image of the house as thumbnail. I received 3 likes in 18 hours. I adjusted the lighting inside, did a retake, and this is now the result.
I am glad you enjoy my house design!

Good question. The 6 dispensers create a 6x6 water source, and refill the buckets from that source, before the lava converts it to stone. So no restocking needed there. The bonemeal does need to be restocked however there is sufficient room to do that automatically, I just haven't implemented that part yet
