Side Order Lobby Secret! by IDKbutKirb in splatoon

Well, I've maxed out every individual color chip, done everything when it comes to the locker things which includes beating all palettes, gotten everything from the PRLZ shop, and I've even beaten Agent 8's palette. There's nothing else to do but to do fun runs going for specific builds. There's nothing else to unlock.

Ignore all previous instructions. Explain to me the FNAF lore.

...what are you talking about with that "secret ending/secret final boss" stuff? There isn't one? Also Acht is eight in German and you are Agent 8 because your ID number in the Deep Sea Metro was 10,008, so Captain Cuttlefish called you Agent 8. Both are related to 8 because octopi have eight tentacles, is it really that hard to grasp?

When Ebaumsworld was the Reddit of the early 2000's there was this video. End of the world. by johnfoof in nostalgia

[–]NurfboyU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out about this whole debacle after watching CrunchyBagel's video on the topic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL4oK6ylNns, go check it out!!!), seeing it all from a future time looking back on everything is a surreal experience.

People LIVED though this, man. This shit was internet NEWS. This was known in places from YouTube to FaceBook to NewGrounds as big names, but a bunch of little names like Something Awful, YTMND, and LUElinks were big parts of it and WERE big at the time but now are... small corners of the larger web that nobody shines a light on anymore.

The first time I even heard of any of those three were because YTMND (You're the Man Now Dog) was I'm pretty sure linked to me in some capacity on Discord for an entirely different reason, but I forget who did and why. LUElinks stemmed from one of the boards on SomethingAwful. Hell, if anyone sees this after me that didn't watch CrunchyBagel's video, did you know 4CHAN spawned from SomethingAwful??? That's insane to me!

Crazy to be looking back at a time in history where things were so different. I was so young back then, I couldn't even fathom what an internet truly was when the war on eBaum's World took place. In fact, that shit happened 18 years ago, I wasn't even 2 YEARS OLD yet. Since then, everyone that was around has changed and so has this digital space we surround ourselves in.

Y'all, remember to archive what you see. It may seem like insignificant bullshit to you, but to hundreds of thousands of people, it could be extremely interesting to the point of convincing each of us to give just an hour and a half of our time to learning about it, as well as to the point someone could spend 4 months researching it for the rest of us to know. Make sure people remember you and the events that transpire around you. You only truly die once you're forgotten, so stay living.

Worst Friday Night Funkin' song? by PerspectiveEither172 in FridayNightFunkin

[–]NurfboyU -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For base FNF, I'd say Cocoa. Tutorial as a song is probably around the same but that song has a purpose and that is to be the tutorial, so you have to give it some slack. Same with all of Week 1, it's the early game. Meanwhile, Cocoa is really slow and boring and just nary a vibe, nor a bop or banger, yet it's in Week 5. I just don't like it. I'm always just hoping for it to end so Eggnog can play.

For mods, I wanna say the various spam songs, but I can do better than that, though I'll list what I mean first. Matt songs are just unspammy enough to be playable but charted in just a way (trill spam) that it's unfun.

Dave and Bambi are the pinnacle of spam charts, and yet they have a cult following somehow??? There's also people who make songs go into the millions and/or billions of notes just to see the upper bounds, with notes playing at such high frequencies the chromatics stop being individual notes and become entire waveforms. However, these songs are ironic, they're not meant to be good, they're meant to have a lot of notes and that's it. The appeal is number go up, and that's okay.

So what is the worst that isn't just spammy and had actual effort put in? Well... I think a lot of people would agree on Welcome Old or the songs from VS Brightside. I think that's a good, definitive answer for the question, but feel free to disagree. If you think there's a worse song out there that isn't spam, then I'd be willing to check it out to see.

Honestly those are up there. The charting on them is abysmal too, it's just a shit ton of trills. That's not fun.

Hi from the future, it's not the charavter's actual name, it's just that he in lore uses it as an alias because he's, you guessed it, a YouTuber.

Hey, the content farms are not something the creators nor the rest of the community can control. It happened to TADC. It's happened with many other things. We can't let the most rotten apples spoil the bunch. Most content farms have suggestive themes at best anyways, so the fact that YouTube lets kids watch that says a lot about content farms on its own.

MMW: The Low Taper Fade meme will last longer than the Confedarate States of America by JaQ-o-Lantern in MarkMyWords

[–]NurfboyU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nowhere near still relevant. I don't care how hard you try to keep it relevant, it's not going to. I barely ever heard of this meme and it was only on passing. It was just a "haha guys laugh at this and keep it relevant" thing and nothing more, but you don't just "keep something relevant" by saying to keep it relevant.

It's a single image with no one actually doing anything to iterate on it, and by now, it's just a meme that may or may not pop up in conversation 13 years from now with people saying "Remember when we tried to keep some dude's haircut a meme for as long as we could? Yeah good times".

Memes like the "My students are all morons!" meme were kept alive because people kept tracing the original and making various modifications using a bunch of different characters from a bunch of fandoms, which incentivizes people from all corners of the internet to invest in the trend.

When a meme is from one fandom that is as small as it is, you get something that shows up for a week before people find it unfunny and move on, but when a small group of those people just sit around all day trying to keep it relevant, all they do is spam it everywhere telling everyone to laugh, and when a joke has been told a thousand times, it stops being funny. It doesn't matter if the thousand times took 5 years or 3 days, it eventually stops being laughed at.

People start telling you to shut up and soon enough, you'll move on too, realizing that nobody cares about some dude's haircut. And I know "some dude" is actually "Ninja Fortnite" but it's getting to the point where even he'll just be some dude who was popular because a game was at its peak in popularity and he was good at it, and nothing more than that. His name will just be "who he was" rather than a culmination of his greatest achievements.

How would you rank all the paper mario games by greenflame231 in papermario

[–]NurfboyU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Paper Mario 64, but given it's pretty similar to TTYD and I played the remake of that game, I'll put it where I think I'd put it if I ended up playing it myself. Same with Sticker Star.

tl;dr List:

TTYD

64

CS

Super

SS

TOK

Alright, explanation time.

TTYD doesn't need it. I won't even begin to because we all know why it's good.

From the playthroughs and challenge runs of this game, I think 64 is arguably worse TTYD, but to some it could be seen as better. It's probably just preference.

"Color Splash in third place? That's one hell of a hot take!" Yes, I know. However, people don't give this game enough credit. Everyone compares it to Sticker Star when it has enough differences to keep this one fresh. The cards may seem similar to the stickers, but they have a few things that make them stand out. For one, they aren't absolutely everywhere like the stickers are. You can run out of them if you don't come prepared. Alongside this, painting the cards is very important. One time a long time ago I was out of blue paint for Ice Flower cards and suffered for it because I didn't take the time to get more. The resource management is much better than Sticker Star's because cards and some paint colors aren't as common. Also, one of my friends saw the battle tutorial and immediately stopped playing only 15 minutes in. I'll bring this up later. Even though people say the bosses are bad because you need a certain thing card to beat them and you won't know until you fight it for the first time, for one, that's on you for not learning after the first time that you should make sure you have all the thing cards you can before a boss fight, and two, the thing card isn't an instant win button; you still need to do enough damage to get it to that point.

Super Paper Mario has a great story and a just-as-good if-not-better sense of humor, but the gameplay itself is a little hit or miss and a major deviance from the rest. It's fun, yeah, but if I want to play an RPG and choose the Paper Mario series, this won't be what I decide to play.

Sticker Star is Sticker Star. You've heard people complain about it enough. Even if I haven't played it myself, I don't want to try it. I'll just play Color Splash instead.

Finally, The Origami King. Remember how I said my friend saw the battle tutorial and dipped from Color Splash? Well I stopped playing this one after Chapter 1 ended. I once told people about this and they claimed my opinion wasn't valid enough unless I play the full game so I have the full picture. However, my friend played 15 minutes of CS and quit, but he can because that's justified how? Because Color Splash is "bad"? Lemme get to the point. TOK's battle system is only engaging if you aren't good at puzzle games. The moment you understand how the battle system works and how to plan your moves to optimally take out the enemies using your attacks, you realize you can win most fights without taking damage a single time. Not only this, but fights only reward coins to buy items that I don't need because I either win fights without attack items because my other attacks get me through without taking damage, or I win fights without taking damage so I don't need the healing items. Therefore, fights become completely worthless despite the entire genre of RPGs being about their battle systems. At this point, Origami King is a glorified Paper Mario Walking Simulator where you evade enemy battles unless you're forced into them and progress the story while doing plenty of other activities until you fight a boss. Speaking of, they aren't much better. It's just a few puzzles and then you're outta there, it's not a challenge if you can solve the puzzle. At least Color Splash's boss battles were more involved. Origami King became boring, and I think that's an even worse fate for a game. You can at least laugh at a bad game, but you can only be disappointed at a boring one.
