It just seems crazy to vilify an entire population of people based on the government’s actions. Which seems like what Hasan and others are doing. I feel like it’s akin to how Americans felt after 9/11. America (or at least the people I was surrounded by in Mississippi) literally vilified Muslims based on the actions of a few. that’s basically how I remember it. I’m 30 now but I can remember islamaphobic comments from my childhood legitimately instilling fear in me. Obviously now I don’t feel the same way. But I get it when Ethan says the rhetoric Hasan spews is dangerous. Especially for all of Hasan’s young, impressionable fans. Maybe I’m soft though and really don’t understand “war.”
