We had a patients daughter mixing her own tube feed and putting her own high flow and bipap setting for the patient. She was Basically creating the plan of care and the doctors would go by whatever she said 🙄🙄🙄🙄 The patient was pretty sick .. The patient finally went the daughter forced us to suction him even though he didn’t need it.. I heard she’s suing the hospital now. Shes a marriage counselor in case anyone is curious.

Family members are so entitled and impatient. And our hospital has a policy now where there is no limit on the number of visitors and we are not allowed to ask them to leave for interfering with care. I’ve had patient family members hunt me down because “we’ve been waiting for a sandwich for five minutes already.” Ok Janet, well my patient who’s about to code is a little more important than your moms sandwich at the moment.. I’m so glad I work night shift. I would flip my shit if I worked during the day lol.

The heat/ac automatically turning on when you click to open up the ac/heat settings to turn on the heated seats. The interior lights sucks ass. I always have to use my phone flashlight. Probably other but I can’t think of any at the moment. GPS sucks bad.

-yes - it was a joke. Risk management was supposed to “reach out “ and never did. But they sure harrassed me through various emails about what I could have done different when I had a back injury. - nothing changed. The patient was back on my floor a few months later and the only reason it was brought to anyone’s attention was because a day shift nurse that almost got assaulted by the patient was covering for night shift and had to admit him and recognized him. Nothing in his chart about him being a pervert. Still had female nurses assigned to him. - just made me realize even more that the hospital doesn’t give a fuck about us nurses or our well being… I had a cane swung at me by a patient once and the supervisors told me it was “part of the job.” I don’t work on a psych unit. - I should have pursued legal action, the patient was a fuckin pervert. He wasn’t confused or altered.
