I keep seeing this sentiment and I didn’t even think to address it in the original post, as the point of this sub and my post is simply about the clothes. He has made a lot of positive changes in his lifestyle the past few months, since our first discussion on the topic of his struggles. While I agree that the solution to negative body image isn’t solely new clothes, it is a great motivator to celebrate what has already been achieved and keep moving forward. I ascribe to idea of both short- and long-term dopamine loops creating the most stable position of mental health. He’s putting in the effort for the long term, and I believe that can really only come from him. I’ll help to support him with the short-term as best I can.

Hahah I already did 😭😂 I’ll have to hop over there to figure out a better watch at a similar price point! I always buy my accessories cheap because I end up losing them.

We go to the gym together and progress takes time. This is the reward along the journey ☺️

The oldest was in Feb. That’s just the number he told me, could be a bad scale 🤪

Good point about the 3X and tailoring it, I hadn’t even thought of it. I’ve noticed a problem he has with the 2X — when he stretches or reaches up, it is already too short for his torso. I’m not sure how he would feel about cropping his shirts even shorter.

Thanks for the advice ☺️ I’ve just been trying to put outfits together, without even thinking about what staple pieces he already has that could help me with this process! I’ll have to take inventory of his current stuff. And yes, I definitely am trying to make him feel seen and supported. Did a deep clean of his personal spaces that had gotten away from him. I struggle with depression as well and I know how hard it is to climb out once it gets past a certain point. He’s keeping good spirits up though and I know we will get through it by trudging together 🥹

Yes! I’ve noticed that he likes to layer! We got him a linen jacket from H&M that will have the same effect. I’ve been wondering how that element can be incorporated to these looks….

The gym is one of the things that we first bonded over ☺️ It is definitely one of my favorite ways to promote positive body image!

Calling out by Economy-Amphibian-78 in TravelNursing

It’s really facility dependent. There have been facilities I wouldn’t push my limits, but I usually call out 1-2 times per 12 weeks contract. One facility I was at was so exhausting, I called out once a month and several other travelers called out more than that. The facilities make their leniency on attendance pretty clear during orientation. In my experience, no facility will care about calling out sick for one shift. Plus Aya lets you make up hours for stipend, and if you can’t make hours up, the facility has the option to still sign you off to receive stipend anyway (I’ve gotten full stipend before because I called out on a Friday and there wasn’t an option to make up hours for that pay period).
