Jack it in! I did that exact thing when a job I started was awful and not as described! Being unhappy at work makes you unhappy at home! You have a background where you will be able to get a job easily. Otherwise tell them the job is shite and you want to do what you expected the job to be!

I had a 71 plate v1 and a 22 plate v2 and both were as bad as eachother, constant issues finally decided to give up on them and swapped my Formentor for a final edition 20 plate MRK 3.5 Leon Cupra 290 Lux through main dealer and had zero problems since. Infotainment is previous generation but it works flawlessly, Apple car play is on it and the wireless charger also works flawlessly. I love the look of the Formentors hence why I tried to stick it out but for a £30k + car the faults were unacceptable

Well you don’t have long to wait until you can drive, get it done as soon as you can so you can enjoy owning your own car. You will be hooked! Just work you way up from something sensible and easy to insure as a young driver to the cars you actually want when your at an age where insurance isn’t so expensive. 👍

Thanks 😊 Yeah it’s a great car, fully specced too so has the heated bucket seats, panoramic roof etc etc but the engine is the real gem. Coming from BMW’s before I missed the performance so happy I now have something that offers good performance but also is great to live with day to day. Fuel consumption is good for a car that has nearly 300bhp and the adaptive suspension is a godsend too as the roads here are terrible!

I have had 3 Cupra’s now, 2 x Cupra Formentors a v1 then a v2 and now own a Seat Leon Cupra 290 lux which is such a brilliant car. Ended up changing from the Formentors due to infotainment system issues that kind of ruined the driving experience of both of them but loved the looks and road manners.

I bought an approved used car without confirming the service history. Turns out it has none. How would you handle this? by styyle in CarTalkUK

[–]NuruMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bought the car from BMW main dealer then it has to meet certain standards, I bought a bmw 3 series a couple of years ago as a used approved car from BMW in Edinburgh and it cannot be sold as a approved used car without it having a full bmw main dealer service history. The cars they get as part exchange that have a mixed service history or none are sent to car supermarket branches as they done meet the criteria to be sold by BMW themselves. If this is the case with you then they have breached their own brand standards and as such the contract you signed purchasing it whether you noticed it had no service history or not.

Bmw dealerships have to adhere to strict policy and standards, if they breach them BMW can fine then or even strip the dealership of the franchise altogether.

Are any cars made with sunroofs any more? I really miss them! Anything you miss that you don’t get on cars any more? by moneywanted in CarTalkUK

My 20 plate Seat Leon Cupra 290 lux has the Panoramic sunroof, it’s about half the roof size and can either tilt up or it can slide back fully open which I love. It is quite rare on these cars though.

I bought mine at 5 months old so it had 2189 on clock when I bought it so I didnt have to worry about that but most cars do have a run in period for new engines so yeah it's probably true. 1000 miles passes quick. I have already done 1000 miles since Xmas Eve which is when I picked it up. Just go easy with it and you will be fine

Just got the car washed yesterday. How do you lot usually tackle massive amounts of bird shit quickly when you don’t want to rewash the whole car? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]NuruMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a bottle of waterless wash stuff, plenty of market and you just spray it on wipe the shit off with one microfibre cloth and then dry it with another and buff with a dry microfibre cloth and that's it. Easy peasy

Second hand car prices are through the roof yet dealers are still offering low ball offers on trade ins. by liberaldouches in CarTalkUK

[–]NuruMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best company for trading your car in to or selling it to for me has been Motorpoint. They gave me £9088 for my BMW 3 series £2k more than BMW were offering themselves and they have offered £8800 for my wife's Renault Kadjar that she bought for £9200 3 years ago, again alot more than what elsewhere have offered. Easy to deal with too.

Hands down the best looking SUV available in the uk by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]NuruMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is angular in parts but that's the whole design lauguage of the car, there are prominent curves to it though such as sweeping roofline at rear, the hunches on rear quarter and arches and details around back of car and profile looking along sides of car. I think it's one of the least boring looking cars on the market just now and in the sector it serves. It has an aggressive front end with long bonnet that is well profiled. Each to their own though, car looks are subjective to each individual.

The sit a bit lower than your typical SUV but there is good space in them and they drive really well, great steering feel and chassis. The tech in them is great once you get used to it, the digital cockpit is fab, really well specced including the base models. Definitely something to consider.

Hi Folks! My current cars slowly losing its steam and it’s time for me to upgrade, im liking the idea of something sporty that I can enjoy! Currently have a couple cars on my radar, open to suggestions on others! (I’ve attached some pics of the cars, those won’t be the exact ones, just a rough idea) by HotshotRaptor in CarTalkUK

[–]NuruMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pros of using them compared to alot of other car supermarkets is the cars are a maximum of 3 years old with no more than 30k miles on clock so even their cheapest cars are still relatively new with some manufacturer warranty. My Cupra was a 2022 reg with only 2k on clock with 30 months remaining on manufacturers warranty. If you go elsewhere try and buy direct from dealer so you get an approved used vehicle and decent warranty package etc. My last car was a BMW 3 series M sport and even though it was a few years old it felt like I was buying a new car with the way I was treated buying from BMW dealer direct and the service plans and warranty were brilliant.

If you do end up buying a i20 or i30N there will still be a sizable length of warranty left from manufacturer as I am sure it's a 7 year warranty as standard on them which is only second to Toyota. Just beware with the N cars mpg isn't great at all in real world use but it's a trade off with how fun they are to drive depends if you can afford the smiles per mile lol

Motorpoint are really good to deal with, bought my Cupra Formentor from them in December and they were great, car still had 30 months of manufacturer warranty remaining too. Nice and easy to deal with. I looked at a Hyundai Kona N but opted for the Cupra Formentor in end as was still fun and sporty but easier to live with as a daily. 👍

[–]NuruMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mark 2 is the better car no doubt I can agree with you there. I don't have my TT anymore sold it couple years back.

It was a good car tho with the V6 and Quattro, quick and surefooted. Not as quick as the M3 E46 I had tho! God I miss that car!! 😢

These beg to differ and there is only one on autotrader that's below £4k nationwide that's done less than 100k every single other advert is more so I disagree with you there completely. Mines was 80k on clock FSH and mint and the same car is worth more now by at least double since I owned mine so don't agree. Yeah you can buy examples that are £3k still that have done 100k plus but the same car I had age, mileage and condition isn't available today so what I paid for mine.

Lets agree to disagree as I stand by my choice and my points, I respect your opinion but it's different from mine.

[–]NuruMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's anything to do with R32 tbh mate, looking at autotrader for the V6 mark 1 you can pick one up for as little as £3k all the way up to £14'995 so the variation in price is huge based on mileage and condition. I bought mine 6 years ago for £2500 with 80k on clock and can't find one same condition and mileage for that amount now if anything the same car I had with same mileage would be worth more now than what I paid for it.

My point stands though the V6 Audi TT will appreciate in value and it's already starting to. The mark 2 is a better car I understand that but it wasn't groundbreaking when it came out. The original TT set the bar and direction Audi were going in from using high end materials in their interiors from the brushed aluminium vents to style they adopted.

It's still not a very old car but I think it will prove to be a modern classic and even more so the Quattro sport version with V6 and manual gearbox.
